Black Level Vinyl Trousers in brief

The specification is short but unambiguous. Orion states the material as 100 percent polyester with a polyurethane coating, publishes a women’s size chart with bust, waist, and hip measurements in centimeters for eight sizes, and sells the trousers for 79.95 euro in its own web shop. In addition, there is a customer information brochure in PDF for that specific item number, with care instructions for patent leather, including for Swedish conditions. In Sweden, size S is sold by three stores at prices between 699 and 799 SEK, and all three had it in stock at the price check on September 12, 2026.

What can be reviewed on a garment of this kind is the material declaration, the size information, the construction details, the care instructions, and how consistently the information is presented in the retail channel. On the first and last point, the trousers hold up well: the material line is identical with the manufacturer, in all three Swedish stores, and with two German retailers. The biggest gap instead concerns something that is unusually important for trousers—leg length.

Size S and EAN 4024144481392 — that’s how the numbers connect

The trousers are available in four sizes, S, M, L, and XL, and each size has its own EAN and its own item number with Orion. The most reliable connection between the two is in the stores’ product data. Lekosmeks and Taboos variant tables give exactly the same picture: Small has the barcode 4024144481392 and item number 28517331021, Medium has 4024144481408 and 28517331031, Large has 4024144481415 and 28517331041, and XL has 4024144481422 and 28517331051. Orion’s own product page shows item number 28517331021 when size S is selected. So the chain from EAN via item number to the manufacturer’s size is unbroken.

Two independent pieces of information confirm the table. Vuxen lists 4024144481392 as the item number on its page, whose address ends with the size designation S. The German retailer AG Fashion publishes 4024144481415 on its page for size L, which matches the row for Large in the stores’ table. Orion itself does not publish any EAN on the product page, so it is the store data that links the barcode to the manufacturer’s item—but it does so consistently from three sides.

So all three Swedish stores sell the same size. Lekosmek and Taboo sell the Small variant with the correct barcode, and Vuxen sells size S under the same EAN. There is no store in the price comparison that shows a different variant under this number.

What’s included in the package?

A pair of pants and nothing else. Orion’s German product page states the delivery contents verbatim as "1 x Lack-Hose von Black Level". No belt is included, even though the waistband has belt loops for one—this is a detail worth noting, because product images of pants with belt loops are often shown with a belt.

Normally, the manufacturer’s customer information is included in the package, and it is also published as a PDF for item number 28517331021. The brochure is dated 08.2024 and is the same for several material types: it has separate sections for latex, lacquer, and leather. For these pants, it’s the lacquer section that applies, and that is covered in detail a bit further down. The brochure also starts with two general instructions that are relevant even before first use: the garment should be cleaned according to the care instructions before it’s used for the first time, and underwear should always be worn when the garment is tried on.

Material: 100 percent polyester with polyurethane coating

The material declaration is the most important piece of information for a pair of lacquer pants, and here it’s unusually consistent. Orion states "100% polyester, polyurethane coating" on the English product page and "100% Polyester, Polyurethan-Beschichtung" on the German one. Lekosmek and Taboo write 100 percent polyester with polyurethane coating, Vuxen writes 100 percent polyester with a polyurethane layer, and the German retailers AG Fashion and High Feelings indicate the same thing. Six sources, one and the same material information.

The information describes a coated textile material: a woven or knitted polyester fabric that has a thin layer of polyurethane on the surface. It’s the coating that gives the glossy lacquer look, and it’s the polyester underneath that gives the garment its structure. The percentage 100 applies to the fiber content—that is, the textile—while the polyurethane is stated separately as the coating. The manufacturer does not publish how thick the coating is, what it weighs, or what share of the garment’s weight it makes up, and none of the stores do either.

The same declaration comes up again in Black Levels other women’s ranges. Orion states 100 percent polyester with polyurethane coating also for Black Levels vinyl dress with a flared skirt and for the mini skirt made of vinyl. That suggests the brand uses one and the same base material for most of the women’s collection, and that the differences between the garments lie in the cut and details rather than in the material.

What’s the difference between vinyl, lacquer, wet look, and latex?

The term is used every other time in the stores, and they do not mean the same thing. For this particular product, there are three names: Orion calls the pants “Vinyl Trousers” in English and “Lack-Hose” in German, and the Swedish stores sell them as vinyl pants or lacquer pants. The material declaration nevertheless shows what it actually is: polyester with a polyurethane coating. It is neither PVC nor natural rubber.

“Vinyl” and “lacquer” are, in this context, trade names for a glossy, coated material and say nothing about which plastic is on the surface. Latex is something completely different: a material of natural rubber that is not a coated textile garment at all. Orion’s own customer information keeps them separate and gives latex its own section, where the manufacturer states that latex products are made of natural latex rubber that can be allergenic and should be powdered or treated with special oil. None of that applies to these pants, because the declaration does not mention latex.

The practical consequence is that anyone who has a latex allergy and is looking for glossy pants can go by the declaration: 100 percent polyester with a polyurethane coating contains no natural rubber according to the manufacturer. “Wetlook” is, in turn, an appearance, not a material—the word is used for glossy surfaces regardless of what gives the shine, and Lekosmek uses it in its product text about this specific item.

Do the lacquer pants contain PVC or phthalates?

According to the declaration, the pants contain no PVC. That is a relevant difference, because PVC is the plastic where phthalates belong. The Swedish Chemicals Agency (Kemikalieinspektionen) describes that almost all use of phthalates in goods is as plasticizers in the plastic polyvinyl chloride, and that the phthalates in soft plastic can make up up to half of the material. The authority also describes that PVC is, in principle, a rigid plastic that only becomes soft when plasticizers are added, and that soft PVC is used, among other things, in printing on clothes and in rainwear.

Polyurethane is another type of plastic. The Swedish Chemicals Agency (Kemikalieinspektionen) counts polyurethane and PVC among the six types of plastic that together account for about 80 percent of plastic use in the EU, but as two separate materials. That means that, as long as the declaration is correct, the biggest phthalate issue with lacquer clothing is not applicable to this product, because the coating is polyurethane and not PVC.

That does not mean the garment is chemically unregulated. The manufacturer publishes neither any chemical declaration, any material certification such as Oeko-Tex, nor any information about additives in the coating. The Swedish Chemicals Agency (Kemikalieinspektionen) states that dispersion dyes are generally used to dye polyester, and that functional chemicals such as coatings are intended to remain in the textile throughout use. A black, coated synthetic garment is therefore, by definition, a chemically treated garment—the difference from a PVC pant lies in which plastic sits on the surface, not in the fact that it would lack chemicals.

Are the patent leather pants stretchy?

The manufacturer does not publish it, and the declaration goes against it. 100 percent polyester means that no elastane or spandex is included in the textile. Orion describes the pants as tight and states that the zippers at the ankles are there so that the pants are easy to put on—but it says nothing about the material stretching.

The comparison within the same brand is telling. For Black Level’s vinyl shorts for men, Orion gives the material as 94 percent polyester and 6 percent spandex with a polyurethane coating, and explicitly describes it as vinyl that stretches in four directions, across the width and along the length. That wording is completely missing for the women’s patent pants, and elastane is absent from the declaration. What can therefore be established is that the manufacturer highlights stretch when the material has it, and that it does not do that here.

What that means in practice is that the size selection should be made based on the size chart and not with the hope that the material will give. A coated polyester material without elastane is, as a rule, dimensionally stable, and a tight pant made from such a material has little margin in terms of additional fit. At the same time, that is the reason the ankle zippers are there: the legs are narrow enough that an opening is needed for the foot to get through.

Fit and size guide

Orion describes the pants as tight with tight legs, and the German product page calls them "eng geschnitten"—close-cut. So the fit is controlled by the cut and by the size choice, not by any adjustment options. There are no drawstrings, no elastic bands, and no adjustable waistband; what it has is a fixed waistband with a snap button and belt loops.

Which size should I choose in Black Level?

The specification is significantly better than for many other lingerie items. Orion publishes a women’s size chart in centimeters directly on the product page, with eight sizes from XS to 4XL. The pants are sold in four of them, and the chart looks like this for the sizes that are available:

• S (ready-to-wear 36/38): bust 82–89 cm, waist 65–73 cm, hips 92–98 cm
• M (ready-to-wear 40/42): bust 90–97 cm, waist 74–81 cm, hips 99–104 cm
• L (ready-to-wear 44/46): bust 98–106 cm, waist 82–90 cm, hips 105–112 cm
• XL (confection 48/50): bust 107–118 cm, waist 91–102 cm, hips 113–121 cm

For pants, it’s the waist and hips that determine the size. Size S corresponds, according to Orion, to a waist measurement of 65–73 centimeters and a hip measurement of 92–98 centimeters. Vuxen publishes exactly the same values on its product page, but under the heading "Cottelli Storlekstabell", despite the pants being from Black Level. The numbers are identical to Orion’s table for Black Level, so it’s a matter of headings, not a matter of substance.

If the waist and hips are different sizes, the hip measurement should be the deciding factor for a pair of tight-fitting pants without elastane, because the hips are the widest point the pants have to pass over and fit. It’s a conclusion drawn from the construction and the materials, not a recommendation from the manufacturer — Orion provides no guidance on how to choose between two sizes.

Inside leg length and garment measurements: what’s missing

The single biggest gap in the specifications concerns length. Orion does not publish any inside leg length, any outside leg length, any midjehöjd, and any garment measurements for any size, and none of the three Swedish stores or the two German retailers do either. The table shows body measurements — i.e., which body size the size is intended for — but not how the garment itself is cut.

For a skirt or a dress, it’s a smaller shortcoming. For a pair of long, tight-fitting pants with a zipper at the ankle, it’s a real shortcoming, because the leg length determines whether the zipper ends up at the ankle or a bit higher up on the calf. What can be established is that the manufacturer’s own product photos show the pants in full length with the zippers at the bottom of the leg, and that the product description places them "at the ankles". How much leg that placement presumes isn’t stated.

There’s also no information about midjehöjd. The pictures show a waistband with belt loops and a fly made for a jeans model, but if the pants are low, normal, or high at the waist, Orion doesn’t say in words. So anyone who’s unsure about length or midjehöjd has no published measurements to compare a pair of their own pants against, and that’s what pulls down the rating for the size information despite an otherwise complete size chart.

A third piece of information points in a different direction and is covered under mismatches between the entries further down: AG Fashion states that S corresponds to size 36, M to 38, L to 40, and XL to 42. Orion’s own chart lists S as 36/38 and M as 40/42. The manufacturer’s chart applies.

5-pocket, snap buttons, and zippers at the ankle

The construction is the part of the specification that the manufacturer describes in the most detail, and it is taken straight from the jeans. Orion lists the details like this: 5-pocket style with front pockets and sewn-on pockets at the back, snap button and zipper at the front, waistband with belt loops and tight legs with a zipper at the ankle. The German text specifies the pockets as “Eingriffstaschen vorne” and “aufgesetzte Taschen hinten”—insert pockets in front and sewn-on outside pockets at the back.

The designation 5-pocket comes from the jeans: two pockets in front, two in back, and a small coin pocket. The manufacturer’s image shot from an angled front view shows a small coin pocket above the front pocket, and the image from a back view shows two sewn-on back pockets with visible seams and a yoke over the seat. It’s a construction that sets the trousers apart from most of the lacquer garments in the category, which are often smooth and pocket-free.

The zippers at the ankles have a clear function according to Orion: they make it easy to put the trousers on. For a tight leg without elastane, it’s a requirement rather than decoration. The manufacturer’s picture from an angled front view shows that the zipper goes a bit up the lower leg, with a slider at the bottom. The length of the ankle zippers, the fly length, and what material the zippers and snap button are made of, the manufacturer does not publish.

Retailers’ descriptions of the pockets differ in wording. Taboo writes “real front and back pockets,” while Lekosmek says that the back pockets are “sewn in for a clean silhouette”—a wording that can be read as if they are stitched shut. Orion’s English text says “sewn-on pockets at the back,” i.e., sewn-on pockets, and the German one says “aufgesetzte Taschen.” They’re outside pockets, not replicas.

Care: hand wash, drying and storage

The care advice is the point where the manufacturer publishes the most, and it is found in two places. Orion’s German product page gives a short version: clean the trousers with gentle hand washing and mild detergent, and use a lint-free cloth to restore the shine on the lacquer surface. The customer information in the PDF, which applies to the same article number, provides the detailed version under the heading “Care advice for lacquer.”

How do you wash lacquer clothing?

According to Orion’s customer information, the garment should be cleaned by hand after each use, with clean, lukewarm water and a mild detergent. After washing, it is rubbed dry with a soft, lint-free cloth. Larger items—and a pair of long trousers counts as that—are laid on a towel to dry, and the inside should dry first and then the outside. The manufacturer emphasizes that zippers, details, and pockets should be completely dry.

The last point is more relevant for these pants than for most patent-leather garments. With two front pockets, two back pockets, a coin pocket, a zip fly, and two ankle zippers, there are unusually many places where water can remain. It is precisely those kinds of places that the manufacturer points out.

Orion does not publish any wash temperature in degrees, any machine-wash instructions, or any explicit prohibitions against tumble drying, ironing, or dry cleaning on the product page or in the brochure. Instead, the instruction is phrased positively: for hand washing, lukewarm water, mild detergent. The brochure states that additional care advice may be found on the packaging or the wash label, so the physical label in the garment is the final check.

What can be derived from the material is why the instruction looks the way it does. A polyurethane coating is a layer of plastic on a textile, and it is that layer that gives the shine. Mechanical processing in a washing machine and heat are what break down such a layer the fastest. Hand washing in lukewarm water is therefore not a precaution for the color’s sake, but for the surface.

Storage, wrinkles, and discoloration

Orion’s customer information devotes more space to storage than to washing, and that is justified. The manufacturer states that the garment should be stored clean, cool, and dry, without direct sunlight and without high humidity. It should be stored separately and not together with garments made of other materials, to avoid chemical reactions. It should not be kept together with garments in other colors or in dark plastic bags, because that can lead to discoloration—instead, a cotton garment bag is recommended, or a soft cloth or tissue paper between the garments.

The last instruction concerns creasing. The manufacturer writes that patent-leather garments tend to become wrinkled, and that they should be hung on a hanger after cleaning to stay smooth for as long as possible. For a pair of pants, that means they should not be folded up into a drawer but hung up—preferably in their full length, so that the legs do not get a crease across the knees.

This is the practical cost of a coated material. A patent surface that has been folded and kept in heat can get lasting marks, and a surface that has been in contact with another plastic material can react with it. None of these details are unusual for patent-leather clothing, but it is worth knowing that the manufacturer itself states them—and that it assumes a closet space that a pair of regular pants does not require.

What the Textile Fiber Regulation requires for labeling

That the fiber composition is published at all is not a coincidence. Konsumentverket describes that the Textile Fiber Regulation covers clothing items, that the information about which textile fibers the product contains must be clearly visible to the consumer before purchase—even when the purchase is made online—and that the labeling must be in Swedish when the product is sold on the Swedish market.

All three Swedish shops meet the first part: the material is listed in Swedish on every product page, and it is the same information as the one provided by the manufacturer. That makes the declaration the most reliable piece of information in the entire specification—precisely because it isn’t voluntary marketing, but an information item covered by the regulations. The polyurethane is listed as a coating alongside the fiber content and is not included in the percentage, which therefore applies to the textile alone.

Black Level Vinyl Trousers compared with the alternatives

The most relevant comparisons are within the same brand, because Orion uses the same material and the same size chart for several Black Level garments. This makes it possible to compare prices against garments on equal terms. The manufacturer prices below are Orion’s own prices in euros, and the Swedish prices come from the shops’ product feeds on September 12, 2026.

Compared with the Black Level vinyl dress with a flared skirt

Black Levels’ short, sleeveless vinyl dress with a flared skirt section and a zipper in the back is made of the same material according to Orion: 100 percent polyester with a polyurethane coating. It is sold with the same women’s size chart and 79,95 euro at Orion — exactly the same price as the trousers.

In Sweden, it looks different. The dress in size XS was 419 SEK at Vuxen during the price check, versus 599 SEK at Lekosmek and Taboo. The trousers cost 699 SEK as a minimum. So two garments that the manufacturer prices the same differ by 280 SEK in the cheapest Swedish shop. That doesn’t say anything about the trousers themselves, but it shows that the price difference in Sweden isn’t based on the manufacturer’s pricing.

Compared with the Black Level vinyl mini skirt

The Black Level mini skirt is heavily flared, has a small buckle on each side, and a two-way zipper at the front. Here too, the material is 100 percent polyester with a polyurethane coating, and Orion sells it for 59,95 euro—20 euro less than the trousers. In Sweden, size XL cost 499 SEK at Vuxen, Lekosmek and Taboo, and 659 SEK at Mshop.

In this case, the difference between the skirt and the trousers is reasonable. The trousers have more material, more seams, five pockets, and three zippers, compared with the skirt’s one. If you want the material and the shine but are unsure about leg length, the skirt has a garment where the leg-length question doesn’t exist—and where the size choice in practice only comes down to the waist.

Compared with the Black Level high-gloss shorts with a zipper

Black Levels vinylshorts are sold in men’s sizes and are therefore not an option for the same buyer, but they are the best comparison for the material. Orion states 94 percent polyester and 6 percent spandex with a polyurethane coating, and describes the material as vinyl that stretches in four directions for a snug but comfortable fit. The shorts have side pockets and a padded metal zipper at the front, and cost 45.95 euro at Orion. Lekosmek sold size M for 379 SEK during the price check.

The comparison shows what the women’s lack trousers do not have: elastane and a stretch description. Same brand, same type of coating, but two different textiles underneath the surface. It is the clearest indication in the material that the pants should be chosen according to the size chart, with little margin for stretch.

Price picture: 699 to 799 SEK at three stores

Three Swedish stores sell size S with EAN 4024144481392, and all three had it in stock during the price check on September 12, 2026. Lekosmek and Taboo both charged 699 SEK, and Vuxen charged 799 SEK. The spread is 100 SEK, or a little over 14 percent based on the lowest price.

Two of the stores publish more about their pricing. Lekosmek’s product data lists 799 SEK as the regular price, which means 699 SEK is a discounted price at that store. Vuxen lists 799 SEK as the lowest price over the last 30 days, meaning the same price as at the time of the check. Orion’s own price in the German web store is 79.95 euro.

Shipping can decide between the two cheapest. Lekosmek and Taboo both indicate free shipping above 699 SEK, and Taboo indicates 39 SEK in shipping under that threshold. Vuxen indicates free shipping from 799 SEK. The trousers are therefore right at the shipping threshold at all three stores. Whether a purchase of exactly 699 SEK counts as being over the threshold at Lekosmek and Taboo is not clear from the stores’ wording—check the shipping line in the checkout. Lekosmek also states 1–2 days of delivery and its own commitment of a 2-year product guarantee; this is a store claim and not a manufacturer guarantee.

When the sources disagree with each other

The review of three Swedish stores, two German retailers, and the manufacturer’s two language versions produced three discrepancies that are worth reporting.

The first and most important concerns sizing. AG Fashion states "S = 36, M = 38, L = 40, XL = 42", while Orion’s chart lists S as 36/38, M as 40/42, L as 44/46, and XL as 48/50. The difference increases with size: for XL, there are at least six clothing sizes between the two pieces of information. Someone wearing size 38 would, according to AG Fashion, choose M, but according to Orion S—and at the XL end, the gap between the two indications is larger than a whole size. The manufacturer’s chart applies, and it is confirmed by Vuxen, which publishes exactly the same centimeter values.

The second one concerns weight. The manufacturer does not publish any weight for the pants, but the retailers’ product data has a weight field. Lekosmek lists 475 grams and Taboo 50 grams for the same item. One of the figures is almost ten times the other, and neither of them has support from the manufacturer. The field should be read as the retailers’ own shipping settings, not as a product specification.

The third is smaller but worth mentioning: Vuxen publishes its size chart under the heading "Cottelli Storlekstabell" and has listed the pants at an address under the category for fetish stockings. The numbers in the chart match Orion’s chart for Black Level, and the item itself is correct—the headings and categories are wrong, not the product data. The pattern is the same as in most specification mix-ups at the retail level: it’s the barcode and the manufacturer’s article number that identify the item, not the retailer’s headings.

Who are the latex pants for—and who aren’t they for?

They suit you if you want a pair of shiny pants with a jeans-style construction—real pockets, a fly with a snap button, and belt loops—rather than a plain shiny leggings. Orion describes the pants as an all-round garment for both everyday life and the club, and it’s the construction that makes it possible: they’re built like a pair of regular pants, with a shiny surface.

They suit you if you want a shiny lacquer garment without PVC and without latex. The declaration—100 percent polyester with a polyurethane coating—is consistent across the manufacturer and all stores, and it rules out both natural rubber and the plastic where the phthalate issue belongs. They also suit you if you want to choose a size based on published body measurements, because Orion’s chart lists bust, waist, and hip in centimeters.

They do not suit you if you’re unsure about leg length. No inside leg length is published, and in a pair of tight pants with a zipper at the ankle, it’s that specification that determines whether the garment fits as it should. They don’t suit you either if you expect the material to give: the declaration contains no elastane, and the manufacturer does not describe the material as stretchy—unlike Black Level’s own men’s shorts. And they don’t suit you if you want to be able to machine wash: the manufacturer’s instruction is hand wash after each use, dry on a towel, and store hanging.

The comparison with Black Level’s vinyl dress is the final piece of the puzzle. Same material and the same manufacturer price, but the dress was available in Sweden for 280 SEK less during the price check. If you primarily want the material and are less tied to the type of garment, you get more for your money there.

Complaints, right of withdrawal, and the hygiene exception

Orion’s voluntary manufacturer warranty states that Orion does not provide a warranty for the pants, which is normal for textile products. Lekosmek states its own product warranty of 2 years, but what applies regardless of the store is your statutory rights — and they extend further than that.

According to the Swedish Sale of Goods Act (konsumentköplagen), you have three years to complain about defects in the item. A defect is something that was present at delivery: a seam that comes apart, a coating that releases from the textile without the garment having been mishandled, or a zipper that does not work. Normal wear and tear is not a defect, and on a coated garment the line between wear and tear and a defect is exactly what a dispute would be about — which is a reason to follow the manufacturer’s care instructions and be able to show that you’ve done so.

For distance purchases, you have a right of withdrawal for fourteen days under the Act on Distance Contracts and Contracts Outside Business Premises. The Swedish Consumer Agency (Konsumentverket) provides guidance on an exception for sealed goods that, for health or hygiene reasons, are not suitable to be returned when the seal has been broken. A pair of pants worn over underwear is not the typical example of such a product, but latex clothing is often sold in the same categories as bodysuits, and the stores’ own terms can differ. Read them before you order. Orion’s customer information also states that underwear should always be worn when the garment is tried on — an instruction that is also the best protection for the right of return.
