The base is the only thing that must be correct
An anal plug differs from everything else in the range in one way: the body can pull it in. The intestine has no end that stops it, unlike the vagina, and that’s why there is a feature that isn’t a matter of taste but a design requirement. The base must be wider than the product’s thickest part, it should sit on a tapered neck that the musculature can close around, and it should be flat or T-shaped so it can’t be angled in.
Everything else in this guide—material, size, vibration, inflatable, price—is a set of trade-offs. The base is not. It is also the reason the criteria list here looks different from the one in the guide to clitoral stimulators: where battery and ingress protection rating decided, here a flange and a neck diameter decide.
It makes this comparison possible in a way that competitors don’t take advantage of. You can read the base’s geometry from the manufacturer’s published measurements. It requires no testing, no experience, and no opinion — just someone putting the figures side by side.
The flange, the neck, and the three millimeters
Four of the twenty manufacturers publish a neck diameter. Lovense lists 25 millimeters against a body of 44, Cuties Vibrating Miniit lists 1,4 centimeters against a maximum of 3,1, Easytoys lists 1,00 centimeters against 2,70, and Epic lists 3,0 centimeters against 5,5. The larger the difference between neck and body, the clearer the place is where the plug wants to stay. The other sixteen describe the base in words — “wide”, “flared”, “T-shaped”, “anchor-shaped”, “cross-shaped” — without giving a number for it.
Only one measurement sheet in the entire field reports the base width in centimeters, and it is Epic Vrakos Dragon Egg: 5,8 centimeters for the base versus 5,5 centimeters at most roughly. Three millimeters. It’s the smallest margin in the review — and the only one that can be calculated at all, since no other manufacturer publishes the two figures.
It’s an uncomfortable conclusion, and it’s presented here as it is: the product that is the most open according to its measurements is the one that gets punished for them. Epic gets 4,6 out of 10 for base and safety despite the category’s most complete specifications, while models that don’t state any base measurement at all avoid the question. It’s a mistake in the market, not in the assessment, and it can only be corrected by putting it in writing.
One out of twenty publishes the base’s width
The weakest base in the entire review belongs to Hidden Desire Extreme Inflatable Bulb Starter Plug, which gets 4,8 out of 10 on the criterion. The reason isn’t that the flange is bad — it’s that no flared flange is described at all: the manufacturer publishes a quick-coupling valve, an expansion interval, and a weight, but nothing about what stops the plug. On a product whose diameter more than doubles after insertion, that is the task that should be listed first.
At the other end is Spreader 4-Way Plug and Cuties Vibrating Mini at 8,4 and 8,6 respectively. One has a wide curved plate that both locks in and provides grip; the other has an anchor-shaped base that the manufacturer explicitly calls anal-safe. Neither of them states a base measurement in centimeters either — they get their points for the described geometry plus the published neck or body, which is as far as the source material goes.
The conclusion for anyone who is going to buy: look for a base that appears to be wider than the plug’s widest point in the manufacturer’s own measurement profile, and distrust every product page that shows a plug without showing the base from the side. The terms are explained in the glossary.
This is how the ranking was calculated
Twenty-four models were checked against the manufacturers’ own specifications, dimension diagrams, package texts, and manuals, with prices pulled from all Swedish shops that sell each item. Twenty are ranked here. Four were left out and are listed at the very bottom with the reason given.
Each product was scored 0–10 on five criteria with equal weight, and the rating is the average. The ranking follows from the rating, never the other way around—meaning it makes it impossible for one model to rank higher than another with better numbers. Each number in the table has a source link in the product’s review.
What was included — and what is a hole in the field
The twenty ranked products cost between 188 and 1 099 SEK and come from ten brands: Lovense, Hidden Desire, Icicles, Cuties, Easy Toys, Black Velvets, Anal Fantasy, Epic, You2Toys, and Taboom. The median price is 274 SEK, and nineteen out of twenty are below 430. The price in the table is the lowest price at a shop that actually had the item in stock.
Two things about the selection are worth knowing before reading the list. The first is that nine of the twenty are inflatable—almost half the field—and that seven of them come from the same series at Hidden Desire. This reflects what Swedish retail actually carries in the price range under three hundred kronor, but it also means that anyone looking for a classic fixed plug in silicone or glass has fewer options here than the category as a whole suggests. Those alternatives exist, and they’re called Icicles No. 47, Icicles No 78, Epic Vrakos Dragon Egg, Invader Open Plug, and Spreader 4-Way.
The second is that electronics are almost nonexistent. Seventeen of the twenty have no motor at all. Taboom has a coin-cell battery at the tip of the tail, but it doesn’t vibrate. That leaves three models with vibration: Lovense Hush 2, Cuties Vibrating Mini, and Black Velvets Vibrating Plug Small. The whole category of anal toys contains more than that, but in this price range, the mechanical product is the norm.
The five criteria, and why they’re different here
Materials and hygiene, base and safety, size and fit, function and adjustability, and price for performance. Five criteria, equal weight, zero to ten for each.
The standard setup for battery life and IP rating can’t be used in this category, and that’s not a detail but the entire reason this list looks different from other comparisons of the same products. Seventeen out of twenty have neither a battery nor a charge time that can be measured. Exactly one manufacturer publishes an IP rating: Lovense states IPX7 according to IEC 60529 for Hush 2. Nineteen out of twenty publish nothing at all about water resistance, and three shops instead claim things that the manufacturer doesn’t have coverage for. Ranking twenty products on a value that exists for just one would be to pretend.
Sound level is not included either. Of the three motor models, only one publishes a number — Lovense states 41 dB — and it is a minimum value with no specified measurement distance and no maximum value. Two such figures can’t be compared against each other even if they had existed.
What can instead be documented for every single product is the material, the design of the base, the published dimensions, what the product actually does, and what it costs compared to the field. The criteria in their entirety are under so I assess.
Four models at 8.0 — so they tied evenly
The rating is rounded to one decimal, and that’s why four models at 8.0 and two pairs with the same figure are further down. The order between them is determined by the unrounded average: Icicles No. 47 is at 8.04, Spreader 4-Way at 8.00, Ribbed Plug Advanced at 7.98, and Cuties Vibrating Mini at 7.96. Four hundredths separate the top and bottom in that group, and it should be read as it is—those four are, in practice, equivalent, and the choice between them is a choice between glass, spread tension, adjustable length, and beginner sizing.
Two pairs are exactly equal all the way down. Smooth Starter Plug and Butt Plug Advanced both land on 8.32, and Anal Fantasy Inflatable and Epic Vrakos Dragon Egg both land on 6.88. A second rule decides there, set in advance: the most shops that had the item in stock at the price check. Smooth Starter was available at six versus Advanced at five; Anal Fantasy at seven versus Epic at five. The rule rewards availability, which is the only thing that distinguishes two products that, across all five criteria, are impossible to tell apart.
Prices: 124 shop listings, matched by article number
The twenty models together carry 124 shop listings, meaning just over six shops per item. The shops are matched by EAN and not by product name, for a reason that this category illustrates better than any other: the same article number is sold under two completely different product names in different Swedish shops, and for Epic Vrakos Dragon Egg two shops call the medium size “XL Buttplug”—the same label they put on size L.
The price that counts is the lowest price at a shop that had the item in stock 12 September 2026. The difference from the lowest listed price is not theoretical: for Epic, the cheapest listing is 259.54 SEK at a shop that didn’t have the product at home, and the price you could actually buy it for was 289. For Spreader 4-Way, the cheapest shop was sold out, and the same goes for Taboom LED Unicorn Tail.
The spread is also large within the same item. Icicles No 78 is noted between 249 and 399 SEK on the same day, Spreader 4-Way between 188 and 309, and Hush 2 between 1 099 and 1 645. Comparing list prices between models without first seeing which shop actually sells them gives wrong answers in roughly every third case.
Anal plug or butt plug—does the word matter?
No, it’s the same product. Anal plug is the Swedish word, and butt plug is the English loanword, and both are used for exactly the same thing: a body with a tapered neck and a flared base, intended to be worn.
The stores systematically hedge between the two, which is the clearest proof that both words carry weight. CDON says butt plugs in the web address and anal plugs in the side heading. Fyndiq does the opposite. Apohem writes anal plugs, PriceRunner writes butt plug, Lyko groups everything under anal toys. No e-shop hedges against a word that nobody uses.
In practice, there’s a small difference in how the words are used rather than in what they mean: butt plug comes up more often in product names with vibration, remote control, and English marketing, while anal plug more often refers to the category as a whole and to the mechanical models. Here, anal plug is used throughout, and the list includes both types. So if you search for one of the words, this is the comparison you’re looking for.
Inflatable or solid — nearly half the field is inflatable
Nine of the twenty ranked models are inflated with a hand pump after insertion. It’s such a large share of the category at this price range that the choice between inflatable and fixed is the first thing you need to decide, before size and before material. The two constructions solve different problems and have different weaknesses, and neither of them is generally better.
What the inflatable feature gives you
It gives you a low start and a high end size in the same product. Bulb Starter Plug goes in at 2.5 centimeters and ends at 5.5. Smooth Starter goes in at 3 and ends at 5.5, with the length growing from 10.5 to 14.5 centimeters at the same time.You2Toys Expert Inflatable Anal PlugIt spans from 2 to 9 centimeters, the widest range in the field. A fixed plug with the same end dimensions would have required that the entire diameter passes through directly.
The other advantage is that the size is determined afterwards instead of in the store. Seven of the nine inflatables disclose both end positions, which is unusually clear documentation in a category where measurements otherwise are often just a single number.
The price is low as well. The two cheapest inflatables are at 212 SEK, meaning below what an average fixed silicone butt plug costs in the same stores.
The closed chamber cannot be cleaned from the inside.
This is the decisive objection, and it applies to all nine: the air chamber is sealed and cannot be rinsed through. The surface can be cleaned like any other silicone product, but the inside of the chamber, the hose, and the valve housing are inaccessible, and none of the manufacturers sells spare parts for them. On Lubricating Plugit also applies to a second channel, the one for lubricant, which opens at the tip of the plug.
Compare that with the two open silicone models.Invader Open Plug Mediumhas a tunnel all the way through of 2.5 centimeters, and Spreader 4-Way has one of 2.3 — both can be rinsed straight through, and both are cast in one piece without voids. Against the glass models, which are solid, the difference is even clearer.
Practical consequence: an inflatable plug is a product with a limited lifespan, regardless of how well it’s taken care of, and it should be viewed that way. None of the nine manufacturers publish a number of inflation cycles, a maximum wear time, or a maximum operating pressure.
The valve, the hose, and the permanently attached pump bulb
Eight of the nine have a permanently attached hose. So the pump bulb stays in place during the entire use and the plug can’t be carried without it. The exception is Anal Fantasy Inflatable Silicone Butt Plug, where the hose can be detached without the air releasing. It is the only real difference between it and the cheaper Hidden Desire models, and it costs 170 SEK more than the series’ Advanced.
The emptying works in two ways. A quick-release valve on the bulb means that the pressure is released with one hand without changing your grip — Smooth Starter, Bulb Starter, Ribbed Advanced, Ribbed Expert, Lubricating Plug, and Suction Base Plug all have this solution. Anal Fantasy instead has an air-release valve in the base itself.
None of them has a pressure gauge, and only You2Toys Expert publishes a safety pressure relief valve. No manufacturer publishes a maximum working pressure. In practice, that means there is no mechanical lockout against pumping too much on eight of the nine, and it’s especially worth knowing for Anal Fantasy, whose maximum inflated diameter is not published at all.
Size scale: what the four measurements actually mean
An anal plug is described by four numbers, and three of them are systematically mixed up in the store chain. Being able to tell them apart is what makes it possible to compare two product pages with each other.
Insertion length, max diameter, neck diameter, base width
Insertion length is the part that is inserted, counted from the tip to the neck. Total length is the entire product including the base, and on a tail model including the tail: Easytoys Fox Tail is 42 centimeters total but 6 centimeters in. Don’t mix them up. Four of the twenty publish no insertion length at all — Spreader 4-Way, Invader Open Plug, You2Toys Expert, and XXL Anal Drill — and at Icicles No 78circulates three different values in the store chain because the manufacturer doesn’t state anything.
Max diameter is the product’s thickest point and the number that determines whether the measurement even applies. Neck diameter is the waist behind it, and the difference between the two is what keeps the plug in place. Lovense lists 44 versus 25 millimeters, Cuties 3.1 versus 1.4 centimeters, Easytoys 2.70 versus 1.00, and Epic 5.5 versus 3.0. No other one publishes both.
Base width is the outermost measurement and the only number that’s a safety issue. It should be larger than the max diameter with a margin. Exactly one manufacturer in the review publishes it, and that’s Epic with 5.8 centimeters versus 5.5 — three millimeters. For the other nineteen, the assessment has to rely on the manufacturer’s size picture and on how the base is described, which is worse but is what’s available.
Four steps through the field, with models at each step
Under 3 centimeters in diameter: Black Velvet’s Vibrating Plug Small at 1.9 to 2.7 centimeters is the slimmest in the review, Taboom LED Unicorn Tail is at 2.8, and Bulb Starter goes in at 2.5 before it’s inflated. It’s the only level where a fixed plug and an inflatable starter fit the same size.
3 to 4 centimeters: Cuties Vibrating Mini up to 3.1 centimeters, Icicles No 78 at 3, and Icicles No. 47…3.5, as well as Smooth Starter Plug, which goes in at 3. Here, what it corresponds to in the field is the intermediate section.
4 to 5.5 centimeters: Invader Open Plug at 4.6, Butt Plug Advanced which goes in at 4.5, Ribbed Plug Advanced which goes in at 4, Anal Fantasy at 5.3 when empty, and Epic Vrakos at 5.5, firm. Note that four of the five adjust upward from here.
Over 5.5 centimeters: Spreader 4-Way unfolds to 7.5, Lubricating Plug and Suction Base Plug go to 6, Ribbed Plug Expert to 6.5, XXL Anal Drill to 7.5, and You2Toys Expert to 9. Six models, and five of them are adjustable—the only fixed one is XXL Anal Drill, which in return has its entire scale built into the shape.
Why 34 centimeters doesn’t have to be more difficult than 7.6
A big number on a product page says little without the shape.XXL Anal Drill is 34 centimeters long and 7.5 centimeters as its thickest, but the diameter grows without steps over the entire length—each centimeter sits close to the previous one. Invader Open Plug is 7.6 centimeters tall but reaches 4.6 centimeters on a body just under seven centimeters, which creates a noticeably steeper curve.
The same logic explains why the three models with graded ledges—Icicles No. 47 with three balls, Cuties with three ledges, and Ribbed Plug Advanced with a ribbed surface—don’t belong on the same scale as the smooth cones. Instead of a gradual increase, they create multiple segmented passages, and the manufacturers rarely publish measurements of the individual steps.
Practical reading guide: set the maximum diameter against the insertion length. A high ratio between them means steep, a low one means progressive. The two numbers are enough, and both are published by sixteen out of the twenty.
Material: five types of surface, three types of hygiene
Fifteen of the twenty are silicone, two are glass, one is metal, one is latex, and one is PVC. The material determines three things at once: how easy the product is to keep clean, which lubricant works, and how it ages. That’s why material and hygiene are one and the same criterion here instead of two.
The three hard products on the list—Icicles No. 47, Icicles No 78 and Easytoys Fox Tail Plug—are non-porous, can handle all lubricants including silicone-based, and can’t be chemically broken down by softeners that migrate. Icicles No. 47 has the only manufacturer datasheet in the review that expressly states dishwasher-safe. They get 9.6 and 9.7 for material, the two highest scores in the field.
Two things need to be said plainly. Glass doesn’t give: three centimeters in glass is not the same as three centimeters in silicone, and Icicles models require visual inspection before each use because glass breaks suddenly when it’s dropped. Neither of the two manufacturer sources lists any shatter resistance. And the glass type is never published—it’s only listed as glass, never borosilicate—despite the fact that the same manufacturer specifies both a microwave and a freezer without giving any temperature limit.
On the metal side, the corresponding gap applies: neither nickel release nor the composition of the surface treatment is disclosed for Easytoys Fox Tail, and no temperature limit is published despite temperature play being the selling point itself.
Silicone: fifteen out of twenty, and what one hundred percent means
Silicone is the category’s standard material, and it’s the right choice for most: non-porous, durable, softer than glass, and cheaper than metal. But the wording differs, and the difference isn’t cosmetic. Lovense, Spreader 4-Way, Invader Open Plug, Bulb Starter, and Suction Base Plug are listed as one hundred percent silicone for the whole, or for the entire insertable product. Epic is listed as medical silicone. Cuties is silicone over PU and ABS, Black Velvet’s silicone and ABS plastic, Anal Fantasy silicone, ABS, and vinyl, Taboom silicone and polyester.
Where a material list contains multiple entries, the question is which part is what, and that’s almost never answered. On the inflatable ones, the hose material, the bladder material, and the material of the valve housing aren’t listed separately by a single manufacturer. On Anal Fantasy, vinyl is included in the list without any phthalate declaration being published.
None of the fifteen silicone manufacturers publish the material’s hardness in Shore A. For Spreader 4-Way, whose entire function is built on the flaps’ springiness, it’s a striking omission. And none of the twenty publishes an explicit declaration about phthalates, BPA, and latex—Lovense writes one hundred percent silicone and nothing more, which is the closest thing the field comes to.
PVC and latex: what isn’t stated in the specification
One product in the list is PVC and one is latex, and both require that you read what is actually published. For XXL Anal Drill, the manufacturer lists only PVC. There’s no phthalate declaration, unlike e.g. XR Brands, which spells out phthalate-free PVC on its corresponding products. The claim “phthalate-free” in Swedish shops is the shop’s own, not the manufacturer’s, and that difference is the whole point. PVC can’t handle either boiling or a dishwasher, and it isn’t non-porous.
The latex in You2Toys Expert is the only one in the review, and there the manufacturer is, by contrast, transparent: the allergy risk is stated in the manufacturer’s own material. None of the seven Swedish shops that sell the product repeat that warning. Latex may only be used with water-based lubricant, since oil and fat break down the material, and it also ages even when unused by becoming sticky, hardening, and cracking.
The term body-safe lacks a definition and is used differently by different shops. Non-porous, on the other hand, is a claim that can be checked, and it applies to glass, stainless steel, and silicone — not PVC, TPE, or latex.
Lubricant: one rule per surface, and an error at the shop level
Anal sex produces no moisture of its own, and therefore lubricant is not an accessory in this category but a prerequisite. Which one works is determined by the product’s material.
Water-based lubricant works with all twenty models without exception. That’s the rule and it doesn’t need any additional checking. Silicone-based lubricant should not be used on silicone: over time, the combination makes the surface sticky and harder to clean, and that applies to fifteen of the twenty. With glass and with polished metal, silicone-based works well — the Icicles models and Easytoys Fox Tail are explicitly stated to tolerate it, and glass is chemically inert. For latex, only water-based applies, since both oil and fat break down natural rubber.
Check the instructions from the manufacturer, not from the shop. During the work on this comparison, one Swedish shop stated that silicone-based lubricant works with Spreader 4-Way Plug, which is one hundred percent silicone. That is wrong according to the manufacturer’s own material. A manufacturer in the list, Hidden Desire, publishes no lubricant recommendation for its products at all, which leaves that kind of information for the shops to make up.
Lubricating Plug is the only model with a built-in solution: a separate channel and an applicator of 80 milliliters that makes it possible to top up during use. The lubricant is not included, and the syringe is labeled for single use. If you want to compare the products themselves, they are under Lubricant.
Cleaning: what the instructions say, and where they are missing
Warm water and mild soap over the entire surface is the basis and is enough for all twenty. After that, the category splits into three levels, and it’s the material that determines which level the product belongs to.
Massive glass and polished metal can be made completely clean and can be checked visually. Icicles No. 47 has the only data sheet in the review that states it is dishwasher-safe, and the dishwasher information for No. 78 comes from the shops and not from the manufacturer—a difference worth knowing before the glass goes into the machine. One-piece silicone without air pockets can be rinsed in its entirety, and where the channel runs all the way through, as with Invader Open Plug and Spreader 4-Way, the inside can also be rinsed through. The inflatable ones can only be cleaned externally.
Three products have parts that can’t be cleaned like the rest. Taboom LED Unicorn Tail and Easytoys Fox Tail have faux-fur tail sections with no published washing instructions, and none of the manufacturers list the tail as removable. Lubricating Plug, in addition to the air chamber, has a lubricant channel. On Black Velvets Vibrating Plug Small, however, the vibration module can be removed, which means the silicone body can be cleaned separately—the only solution of that kind among the three models with a motor.
Boiling shouldn’t be generalized. None of the twenty manufacturers publishes boiling instructions for its specific model, and PVC and latex can’t tolerate it under any circumstances. Dry it before storing, and store the latex model separately from other rubber. Only one of the twenty is delivered with something to store it in: Anal Fantasy, whose box fits four accessories.
Where the information is missing—and where the shop contradicts the manufacturer
This category has worse documentation than any other on the site, and it isn’t a parenthesis but the single most important circumstance for anyone who’s going to buy. All twenty of the ranked models have at least one documented gap or contradiction in their published information. Below are the most serious ones, by name.
Dimensions that are not published
Nineteen out of twenty don’t publish the base width. Four publish no insertion length: Spreader 4-Way, Invader Open Plug, You2Toys Expert, and XXL Anal Drill. Icicles No. 78 publishes neither length, insertion length, diameter, nor weight, and Icicles No. 47 publishes neither weight, total length, circumference, nor base measurements—on two products from the same manufacturer.
Most serious is Anal Fantasy Inflatable, where the maximum inflated diameter isn’t published at all. That’s the only figure that matters on an inflatable product without a barrier against over-inflation, and it’s missing. The manufacturer’s product page has also been removed, and the information exists only in archived form.
Lubricating Plug publishes its dimensions only in image form, never as text. Taboom publishes neither total length, weight, battery type, nor playtime for its LED tail, and Hidden Desire publishes no warranty period for any of its ten models in the list.
When the shop contradicts the manufacturer
Ribbed Plug Expert 38 cm is the clearest case: four out of six Swedish stores state the diameter as 6 to 9 centimeters where the manufacturer states 5.5 to 6.5, and one of them contradicts itself on the same page, with 8 centimeters in the fact box and 9 in the body text. For Easytoys Fox Tail Plug four out of five stores state the wrong measurements, and 44, 47 and 2.8 centimeters occur where the manufacturer’s table says 42 and 2.70.
Six stores state four different total lengths and three different diameters for Anal Fantasy Inflatable, i.e. for the same product number. Three stores state three different diameters for Icicles No. 47, and one of them also shows a completely different product in the picture and states an insertable length of 14.5 centimeters. Two stores state 12 centimeters for Black Velvets where the manufacturer states 13.
The manufacturers also contradict themselves. Bulb Starter has a maximum of 5.5 centimeters in the specta table and 6 on the package. Suction Base Plug has 6 versus 7. Ribbed Plug Advanced has 5.5 and 23 centimeters in the specification versus 6 and 25 on the package. Lovense lists the runtime as both 275 minutes and eight hours on the same product page. The rule that applies here: when two sources say different things, both are listed, and the manufacturer’s technical specifications weigh more than the package’s marketing text.
The enclosure rating that almost no one has
Exactly one out of the twenty publishes an enclosure rating, and it is the Lovense Hush 2 with IPX7 according to IEC 60529 — the entire product can handle submersion in one meter for thirty minutes and can therefore be rinsed under the tap. Nineteen publish nothing at all.
That doesn’t stop the stores. Two stores claim that Cuties Vibrating Mini is IPX5 and IPX7 respectively for a product whose manufacturer explicitly advises against submersion in water. One store lists water resistance as IPX5 for Invader Open Plug, which is a massive silicone product without electronics — an enclosure rating for something that has nothing to enclose is an incorrect application of the standard. Two stores claim water tightness for Suction Base Plug without a source.
Two products have the manufacturer’s explicit prohibition against submersion: Cuties Vibrating Mini and Black Velvets Vibrating Plug Small. On an anal product, that’s a real limitation. Anal Fantasy is listed as water resistant by the manufacturer but without an IP rating, which is a claim and not a measured value.
What the price buys — and where it buys nothing
The range is 188 to 1,099 SEK, but the distribution is uneven: nineteen out of twenty cost under 430 SEK and the median is 274. So there’s no premium tier in this category on the Swedish market—just a single product in it, and it’s there because it contains electronics.
The price gap up to Lovense Hush 2 buys four things that no other product on the list has: a published enclosure rating, a stated operating time, control over the internet, and four insertion depths with the same technology. It doesn’t buy better materials—Icicles No 78 has a higher materials rating for 289 SEK—and not a better base.
In the other direction, the relationship between price and rating is weaker than you’d think. The cheapest product in the specification review, Cuties Vibrating Mini at 188 SEK, is seventh. The most expensive inflatable, Anal Fantasy at 429, is fifteenth. The most expensive model in Hidden Desires’ own series, Suction Base Plug Expert at 419 SEK, is eleventh, while the series’ 212 SEK model is second. So within the same manufacturer series, the price is almost completely decoupled from the rating.
Two cases where more money gets you a smaller product are worth naming. Ribbed Plug Expert costs 379 SEK and gives the same design, material, and ventilation as Advanced for 259. And among the excluded ones, there’s a cone that is both more expensive and smaller than its own sister model.
Six mistakes this category punishes harder than others
Buying based on total length. Easytoys Fox Tail is 42 centimeters on the product side and 6 centimeters in. XXL Anal Drill is 34 centimeters without any insertion length being published. The number that stands out the most on the page is almost never the number that matters.
Not looking at the base from the side. This is the category’s only construction requirement—and the image that’s most often missing in the shop listing. If no base measurement is published—and it’s not published by nineteen out of twenty—then the manufacturer’s own measurement guide is the only thing that exists.
Trusting the shop’s specifications. Four out of six shops have the wrong diameter for Ribbed Plug Expert, four out of five have the wrong measurements for Easytoys Fox Tail, and six shops have four different lengths for Anal Fantasy. Always check against the manufacturer.
Assuming that an inflatable plug can be cleaned from the inside. None of the nine do, and it can’t be solved with technology or care.
Using a silicone-based lubricant against silicone. That applies to fifteen out of the twenty, and one Swedish shop expressly states the wrong thing about it.
Buying based on the lowest listed price without checking stock status. For Epic Vrakos, there were thirty kronor between the cheapest listing and the cheapest price that was actually available to buy, and for both Spreader 4-Way and Taboom LED Unicorn Tail, the cheapest shop was sold out at the time of the check.

Prices were last checked on 12 September 2026 against the shops’ own product feeds, matched by article number and including stock status. The date at the top of the page shows the most recent check.
Ratings are recalculated when a manufacturer publishes information that was previously missing—and in this category, that’s the most common reason why something changes. If Hidden Desire publishes a base measurement for its Extreme series, it moves several positions at the same time. Ratings are also recalculated when a new model is added to Swedish retail or when a contradiction between two sources is resolved.
If a rating changes here, it changes at the same time in the product’s review. The guide and the product page should never say different things about the same model.
