Obsessive 859 corset and thong in brief

Obsessive 859 is a corset in wetlook and patterned mesh with a matching thong from the Polish lingerie brand Obsessive. The manufacturer’s model designation is 859-COR-1; in Swedish stores it is sold as “Corset & Thong,” “Korsett och stringtrosa i wetlook-style,” or simply “Wetlook Corset.” This review applies to size L/XL with EAN 5901688218754.

On the materials side, the specification is thinner than you might hope for, but unusually concrete on the fit side. Obsessive publishes a size chart with four body measurements for each size — bust, underbust, waist, and hip — and a fiber composition of 90 percent polyamide and 10 percent elastane. In Sweden, the set is sold by three stores. In the price check on September 12, 2026, all three L/XL sizes were in stock: Blush Me for 429 SEK and Vuxen and Taboo for 599 SEK each.

What makes the item interesting to review is that the details do not match in the store listings. One of the three stores states a completely different fiber composition than the manufacturer, and another publishes a general size chart that is not the same as the manufacturer’s own for this specific model. Both discrepancies affect what you actually buy, and both are listed below.

What’s included in Obsessive 859-COR-1?

The manufacturer states that the set consists of a corset and a matching panty, and that the stockings are sold separately. The corset is described as a combination of “wet look” type material and mesh with a subtle pattern. The top goes around the neck and closes with Velcro; the front panel has a deep neckline over the bust that ends with a zipper; the back is laced; and the lower part flares out like a short skirt. The garters are adjustable and removable.

The Swedish stores describe the same thing in their own words. Blush Me lists “wet look” fabric, halterneck fastening, a zipper on the front, lacing at the back, and adjustable and removable garters. Vuxen writes that the corset has a halterneck and a zipper under the bust, and that no stockings are included. Taboo describes a cutout in the middle of the chest, a zipper at the front, lacing at the back, and that matching-style panties are included. There is full agreement, and that matches the manufacturer’s own product images of the garment on an invisible mannequin, front and back.

Two things are worth noting already here. The first is that the stockings shown in the model photos are not included — the manufacturer writes that, and all three shops do as well. The second is that the word corset is used here for a fashion garment, not for a laced-up corset with steel stays. The manufacturer states that there are no rails, no panel pieces, or any waist-shaping reduction, and none of the shops does either.

L/XL or S/M — and what the EAN number determines

The model is available in two sizes, and they each have their own EAN. The variant table in the source code on Obsessive’s product page links size L/XL to the barcode 5901688218754 and S/M to 5901688218747. This text applies to L/XL.

The shops separate the sizes correctly. Taboo lists 5901688218754 for the L/XL variant and 5901688218747 for the S/M variant, and in the check, S/M was not available there while L/XL was. Vuxen’s item number OB-8754 ends with the same four digits as the L/XL number, and Blush Me has L/XL under its item number 2470 and S/M under 2471. So all three shops sell the same variant as the EAN number indicates in the price comparison.

Material: 90 percent polyamide and 10 percent elastane — according to the manufacturer

Obsessive states the material as a soft, elastic material with the composition 90 percent polyamide and 10 percent elastane. Blush Me and Vuxen reproduce exactly the same figures. Polyamide is the same fiber as nylon — in the EU’s textile labeling regulation, it is listed as “polyamide or nylon” — and elastane is the stretchable fiber that gives the garment its springback.

What the information does not say is how the wetlook surface is constructed. Wetlook is an appearance, not a material: a fabric with a glossy, wet-looking surface meant to resemble lacquer or latex. Orion states polyurethane coating on Black Levels lacquer garments, and Obsessive itself states polyurethane on other wetlook models. Obsessive states that there is no coating at all for model 859, and it becomes striking when you compare it with the manufacturer’s own sister products.

What does wetlook mean for this specific garment?

Obsessive declares polyurethane on other wetlook models. For the corset and the string panties Norides, the manufacturer lists two materials: “100% polyurethane” and “90% polyamide, 10% elastane”. For its body in wetlook, it lists “material that imitates latex” as 100 percent polyurethane, a main material of 95 percent polyester and 5 percent elastane, and a lining of 94 percent polyamide and 6 percent elastane. The manufacturer can therefore list multiple materials per garment, and it does so on comparable products.

For 859, there is only the 90/10 row. This may mean that the wetlook panels are a fabric whose sheen comes from the yarn and the surface treatment rather than from a separate coating, or that the declaration is incomplete. Which of these it is cannot be determined from the sources. What can be established, however, is that the buyer gets a fiber composition but no description of the outer surface layer—and it is that outer surface layer that determines how the garment should be cared for.

Taboo indicates an entirely different material composition

Taboo’s product page lists three material rows that do not appear in the manufacturer’s information: outer material 100 percent polyurethane, base material 95 percent polyester and 5 percent spandex, and panties 85 percent polyamide and 5 percent spandex. Spandex is the North American name for elastane.

The information has two problems. The panty row totals 90 percent, not 100, which means that some fiber type is missing or that a figure is incorrect. And the base material—polyester with 5 percent elastane—does not match the manufacturer’s 90 percent polyamide and 10 percent elastane. The pattern with a polyurethane layer on top of a polyester-based base fabric, however, is similar to what the manufacturer states for its wetlook body, which makes it possible that the shop has taken the material text from another item in the assortment.

The manufacturer’s information applies: 90 percent polyamide and 10 percent elastane. But Taboo’s rows point to the question that the manufacturer itself leaves open—namely whether the garment’s glossy surfaces include a polyurethane layer. If you are sensitive to any of the materials, the care label in the garment is the only safe way to check.

Is it PVC, vinyl, or latex?

No, according to all sources. Neither the manufacturer nor any of the three shops mentions PVC, vinyl, or natural latex for this model. It’s worth clearing up because the terms are used interchangeably when shiny clothes are sold. Vinyl and PVC are the same plastic that has been softened; natural latex is a rubber material that can cause allergic reactions; and wetlook is a textile fabric with a glossy surface.

In practice, that means two things. The garment is a knitted textile material with elastane and therefore stretches in a completely different way than a PVC dress, which lacks stretch. And someone who avoids natural latex does not have to rule out this garment for that reason, because latex is not stated anywhere. What Obsessive calls “material that imitates latex” on its body is polyurethane, not rubber.

Dyeing and chemicals in a black synthetic garment

The set is all-black synthetic, and the dyeing is the step in textile production where the most chemicals are used. The Swedish Chemicals Agency (Kemikalieinspektionen) states that dispersion dyes are generally used for polyester and nylon, meaning the fiber type that makes up 90 percent of the garment according to the manufacturer. The agency also describes that the azo dyes that can form health-harming arylamines are prohibited from use for dyeing textiles. The ban applies to all textiles sold in the EU regardless of the country of manufacture.

Obsessive does not publish any country of manufacture and no material certification — neither Oeko-Tex nor an equivalent — for model 859. The brand presentation states that the brand is family-owned, was founded in 2006, is present in over 66 countries, and that the collections are designed in Europe. It is not stated where the garments are sewn. At the same time, the Swedish Chemicals Agency (Kemikalieinspektionen) puts figures on resource use: one kilogram of new textile involves between 1.5 and 6.9 kilograms of chemicals and between 7,000 and 29,000 liters of water, depending on the type of fiber and production method.

Fit: a real size chart — with a typo

Here, Obsessive is better than most in the category. The manufacturer’s product page has its own size chart for model 859 with four body measurements per size in centimeters. For L/XL, the bust circumference is 95–104, the underbust circumference is 78–86, the waist is 78–87, and the hip is “101-11”. For S/M, the bust is 85–94, under the bust is 69–77, the waist is 68–77, and the hip is 90–100. Obsessive’s size guide states that the measurements refer to the body’s circumference.

The hip value for L/XL is cut off on the manufacturer’s site. “101-11” has no upper limit — the reasonable assumption is that a number has been left out, but which one cannot be known. What can be established is that L/XL starts where S/M ends, at 101 centimeters, and that it is the lower limit that has been published. The other three measurements are complete.

What size should you choose in Obsessive 859?

Start from the bust measurement. The corset has a fixed front panel with a zipper and a laced back, and it’s the upper part that has the least leeway, because the neckline and the collar area are supposed to be positioned properly. For L/XL, the manufacturer states bust 95–104 and underbust 78–86 centimeters. If your bust measurement falls within that range and your waist is within 78–87 centimeters, then L/XL is the manufacturer’s recommendation.

If you’re in the borderline range, the construction provides some help. The manufacturer writes that the lacing in the back provides fit and adjustment, and that the neckline part, the zipper, and the back lacing together make the garment easy to take on and off. A laced back can normally be tightened or loosened after a few centimeters, while the zipper at the front is fixed. How large the adjustment range in the lacing is, the manufacturer does not publish, so that is a conclusion from the construction and not a stated measurement.

Garment measurements — the corset length, the length of the skirt section, or the length of the garter straps — the manufacturer does not publish either, and none of the shops do. For a corset with a flared hem, the length would have been a useful detail, because it determines where the skirt ends on the thigh.

The adult size chart says something else

Adult shows a “Storlekstabell Obsessive” on the product page, and it does not match the manufacturer’s chart for this model. Adult lists L/XL as EU size 40–42 with a waist of 75–90, hips 100–110, and bust 90–100 centimeters, and S/M as EU 34–38 with a waist of 60–75, hips 90–100, and bust 80–90 centimeters. The chart also lists an XXL, which this model is not available in.

The difference matters in the borderline area. According to Adult’s chart, L/XL fits a bust from 90 centimeters; according to the manufacturer, L/XL starts only at 95. Someone measuring 91–94 centimeters across the bust therefore ends up in L/XL with Adult’s chart and in S/M with Obsessive’s. Adult’s chart appears to be a general chart for the brand and not specific to model 859, but this is not clear from the page. The manufacturer’s model-specific chart should come first.

At the same time, Adult’s chart has a piece of information that the manufacturer lacks: a link to an EU ready-to-wear clothing size. L/XL corresponds to 40–42 there. It’s a shop detail, but it’s the only source that translates the size into a number you can compare with your other clothes.

Construction: Velcro, zipper, lacing, and removable garter straps

The garment has three closures, and they do different jobs. The Velcro at the neck holds the neckline section. The zipper at the front opens and closes the neckline. The lacing at the back regulates the circumference. According to the manufacturer, it’s the combination of the three that makes the corset quick to take off and put on, and that matches what the pictures show: no hook-and-eye strip, no buttons, and no buckles beyond the garter-strap holders.

Halterneck with Velcro and a zipper at the front

The Swedish shops call the neckline halterneck, which describes the shape: a strap around the neck instead of shoulder straps. Only the manufacturer specifies how it’s closed — with Velcro. Velcro closes quickly and allows stepless adjustment, but it also attaches to hair, mesh, and lace, and the grip weakens over time when the hook side gets filled with lint. Close it before the garment is washed so it doesn’t tear up the mesh panels on the sides.

The zipper at the front is gold-colored in the manufacturer’s images and runs from the tip of the neckline down toward the waist. Adult describes it as a zipper under the bust, Taboo as a front zipper that makes it easy to close or quickly open. None of the sources provides any information about the zipper material or whether it is a two-way zipper.

Removable garter straps and the panties

According to the manufacturer, the garters are adjustable and removable. The point, Obsessive writes, is that socks in different colors and patterns can be mixed and matched. Removable bands have a practical advantage: the corset can be worn without them, and the bands can be washed or replaced separately if they lose elasticity. How the bands attach to the corset is not explained in the text.

According to the manufacturer, the panties are only described as a matching thong; Vuxen describes them as a matching string thong. In the manufacturer’s images, it’s sewn in the same patterned mesh as the corset’s side panels. The manufacturer does not provide any separate material specification for the panties—only Taboo gives it its own row, and that row does not add up to 100% as mentioned.

Care: the manufacturer’s general advice, nothing for the model

Obsessive does not publish any care instructions for model 859, and none of the three stores does either. What’s available is the manufacturer’s general care guide for the entire range, which also begins by saying that you should always follow the instruction on the care label. That guide is still more detailed than what most manufacturers publish.

How do you wash patent-leather clothes and wetlook clothing?

Obsessive’s basic rule is hand-washing in lukewarm water, 20–30 degrees, with a mild detergent, and together with garments in a similar color. If it’s going in the machine, the manufacturer recommends an ultra-gentle program and a laundry bag. The garment should be washed before first use, and the parts of a set should be washed together so that the shade doesn’t differ between them.

For drying, the same guide says: no tumble dryer, no sun, and no radiators/heaters. Gently press the water out, or roll the garment up in a dry towel and let it dry flat. Corsets should, according to the same guide, be stored flat rather than hanging.

For wetlook, there’s a separate section. Synthetic latex, eco-leather, and polyurethane should, according to Obsessive, be hand-washed at a gentle temperature and ironed with a steamer or iron on the wrong side at a low temperature. That this advice applies to this garment assumes that the wetlook panels are actually coated with polyurethane, which the manufacturer, as mentioned, does not state for model 859. The careful interpretation is to treat the entire garment using the strictest rule: hand-wash, dry flat, and no heat against the shiny side.

What wears out first on a wetlook corset

Three parts of the construction are exposed to the most wear: the elastane, which loses its springiness from heat and time; the shiny surface, which on coated fabrics can crack or peel where the fabric is folded and stretched the most; and the velcro at the neck, whose grip decreases with use. None of them can be repaired without changing the garment, but the garters can be replaced because they are removable.

The manufacturer does not publish an expected service life and no voluntary warranty for the model. The care guide, however, explicitly urges repairing minor damage instead of throwing the garment away — a reasonable tip for laces that have come loose or a seam that has started to come apart, less realistic for a surface that should be starting to crack.

Labeling: what EU rules require of a garment made of two materials

The fiber composition is not a voluntary marketing task. The EU Textile Labelling Regulation requires that a textile product be labeled with the name and weight percentage for all types of fibers in descending order. So the information “90% polyamide, 10% elastane” is what the law requires, and it must be stated on the care label.

Corset and panty — two garments, one declaration?

The regulation has special rules for products with multiple textile components with different fiber contents: then the fiber content must be stated for each component, with certain exceptions for small components and for products that have the same fiber content and normally form a single unit. Obsessive states a single composition for the entire set. This complies with the rules for the corset’s wetlook, the mesh, and the panty actually having the same fiber content.

That is exactly the point that Taboos material list questions. If the corset has a polyurethane layer and a polyester-based base fabric while the panty is polyamide, then those are three different components. Which one is correct cannot be determined from the published sources — but it underlines that the care label on the garment, which must follow the regulation, is the information that decides.

Obsessive 859 compared with other shiny/“lack” clothing

Four comparisons are relevant: three other shiny/“lack” garments that we have reviewed from the wholesaler Orions brands, and the manufacturer’s own wetlook models. The prices from Swedish shops come from the same product streams and the same control dates, September 12, 2026. The material information for Black Level and Cottelli comes from Orions wholesale pages.

Compared with the Black Level vinyl dress with flared skirt

Black Level vinyl dress with a flared skirt has the same basic idea — a figure-hugging upper part and a flared lower part — but it is an entirely different material. Orion declares 100 percent polyester with a polyurethane coating, meaning a coated fabric where the coating is explicitly stated. Obsessive 859 instead has elastane in the fabric according to the manufacturer, and in addition lacing at the back, which provides adjustability that the dress lacks.

The price is very similar. The dress cost 419 SEK at Vuxen and 599 SEK at the other shops during the price check; Obsessive 859 cost 429 SEK at Blush Me and 599 SEK at the other two. The dress is a full garment to wear with other clothes on top or on its own; the corset is a lingerie set with an open bust and garter straps. They compete for the same budget, not for the same use.

Compared with the Black Level vinyl mini skirt

Black Level vinyl mini skirt is a single garment in the same price range: from 499 SEK up to 659 SEK in size XL. Orion also lists it as 100 percent polyester with a polyurethane coating layer. For about the same money, you can get a two-piece set with a corset and a thong at Obsessive. The one who wants to build a patent-leather look outfit around a skirt and an upper piece of their own gets more use out of the skirt; the one who wants a ready-made set has it for 859.

Against Cottelli Collection Wetlook Mini Skirt

Cottelli Collection Wetlook Mini Skirt is the closest in terms of material: also a wetlook and also a knitted fabric with elastane, according to Orion 92 percent polyester and 8 percent elastane. Obsessive 859 has a somewhat higher elastane share, 10 percent, and polyamide instead of polyester as the main fiber. The skirt cost 287–369 SEK, so clearly less, but it is a single garment without a closure.

The comparison also shows what it means when two manufacturers call their material wetlook. Neither of them states a coating for these particular garments—the difference is that Obsessive declares polyurethane on its other wetlook models and not on this one, which makes the absence stand out more.

Against Obsessive’s own wetlook models

In the manufacturer’s own shop, model 859 costs 199,99 zł. The corset and the Norides string thong cost 194,99 zł and have underwire cups, multi-step hooks, a laced back, and adjustable garter straps. The materials listed are 100 percent polyurethane and 90 percent polyamide and 10 percent elastane. The manufacturer’s wetlook bodysuit costs 199,99 zł and has a complete three-part material declaration, including lining.

The conclusion is that 859 is in the same price level as the brand’s other wetlook sets, but has the thinnest material declaration among them. If you can choose between Obsessive models in Swedish shops, Norides is the option where the manufacturer discloses the most about the material—and the only one with underwire cups, if you want support instead of an open bust. Norides is not present in the price-comparison’s feeds, so no Swedish price can be given.

Price range: 429 to 599 SEK, all three in stock

Three Swedish shops sell L/XL with EAN 5901688218754, and all three had it in stock at the price check on September 12, 2026. Blush Me was the cheapest at 429 SEK; Vuxen and Taboo cost 599 SEK. The difference is 170 SEK, or just over 28 percent of the higher price.

Blush Me’s price is a reduced price: the shop lists 599 SEK as the original price and 429 SEK as the current price, a 28 percent discount. So 599 SEK is the price that all three shops base themselves on. Vuxen states that the lowest price in the past 30 days was 599 SEK, which means that Vuxen has not had a promotion on the garment during that period.

Shipping affects the calculation for a purchase at this size. Vuxen has free shipping from 799 SEK, and Taboo has free shipping over 699 SEK; otherwise it’s 39 SEK. The garment by itself doesn’t reach any of the thresholds. Blush Me states delivery in 1–2 days for items in stock. Regardless of shipping, Blush Me is clearly the cheapest option at the time of checking.

When stores contradict the manufacturer

The review of the three shop pages found two deviations from the manufacturer. The first is Taboo’s material list—polyurethane, polyester, and a panty row that adds up to 90 percent—versus the manufacturer’s 90 percent polyamide and 10 percent elastane. The second is Vuxen’s size chart, which places the boundary between S/M and L/XL at a 90-centimeter bust, versus the manufacturer’s 95.

Blush Me is the shop that reproduces the manufacturer most faithfully: the same materials, the same construction details, and no own size chart that could contradict it. It’s not otherwise a quality guarantee for the shop, but for this specific item, Blush Me’s page is the one that matches the source best.

Taboo, on the other hand, publishes something that no one else has: a variant weight of 250 grams in the shop’s product data. This is a shop claim and likely a shipping weight rather than the garment’s own weight. Obsessive does not publish any weight.

Who is Obsessive 859 for — and who is it not for?

It’s for you if you want a ready-made set in a patent-leather style with a corset, panty, and garter straps, and you know your measurements. The manufacturer’s size chart with four measurements per size is better than what most lingerie sets in the category offer, and the lacing at the back provides some leeway. It’s also for you if you want to be able to vary, since the garter straps can be removed.

It’s not for you if you want to know exactly what the shiny surface is made of. The manufacturer does not declare any coating, and the only shop that does contradicts the manufacturer regarding the rest of the materials. It’s also not for you if you want a corset that shapes the waist—there are no details about stays—or a bra section with support, since the bust is open. And it’s not for you if you’re right on the border between S/M and L/XL and only have Vuxen’s chart to go by.

Claims, right of withdrawal, and the hygiene exception

Obsessive does not state any voluntary warranty for model 859, which is normal for textiles. What applies are your statutory rights. Under the Konsumentköplagen, you have a three-year right to make a claim for defects in the goods—for example, a seam that comes undone, a zipper that doesn’t work upon delivery, or a surface that flakes in a way that isn’t due to normal wear and tear.

For distance purchases, you also have a 14-day right of withdrawal under the law on distance contracts and contracts outside business premises. Konsumentverket (the Swedish Consumer Agency) advises that the right of withdrawal does not apply to goods that, for health or hygiene reasons, are sealed and where the seal has been broken. A thong panty that has been taken out of its packaging and tried on may fall under this description. Since choosing the size is the biggest uncertainty in the purchase, it’s worth reading the store’s return policy before you order, and trying the garment on over underwear if you want to keep the possibility of returning it.
