What a strap-on seat does—and what it doesn’t do

A strap-on seat is pure mechanics. It has no motor, no battery, and no electronics. Its entire function is to hold a dildo in place relative to the wearer’s hip, so that the force from hip movement is transferred to the dildo instead of the harness slipping off. • Strap-On Harness (item 17165)—the same materials setup and exactly the same two ring sizes, but constructed with a front cushion instead of the wide back section, and with adjustable front attachments. List price: 27.99 euros.
• Strap-On Harness with Dong S (article 17120) — the same harness as the standard model, but with a silicone dildo with a total length of 12.5 centimeters in the package. List price 39,99 euro.

The difference between the Deluxe and the standard model is thus not the rings, which several store texts suggest. Both have 3.5 and 4.5 centimeters. The difference lies in how the force is absorbed: the standard model distributes the pressure over a front cushion, while the Deluxe does so over a wide back section. What can be established based on the manufacturer’s own description is that only the Deluxe is explicitly stated to withstand heavier dildos.

Materials and build quality: four materials in the same product

Taboom states four materials outright: PU leather, neoprene, PP webbing, and nickel-free metal. The distributor Scala repeats exactly the same four in its specification table, and Joyland lists them in Swedish as metal, neoprene, polypropen, and PU leather.

What PU leather is — and why it isn’t leather

PU leather is textile coated with polyurethane. A woven base, usually polyester or cotton, is provided with a layer of polyurethane that is embossed so that the surface looks like leather. It is therefore a synthetic material, not an animal-based one, and that is also why the material specification matters: PU is not the same as soft PVC, which is the other common synthetic leather in this product category.

The difference has a practical consequence. Softened PVC needs plasticizers to become flexible, and the most common group of plasticizers is phthalates. Measurements and weight: 0.33 kg, and the waist measurement that no one publishes

Here the picture is thin, and that has to be said straight out. The manufacturer publishes no waist measurement, no adjustment range, no strap length, no strap width, and no product weight for Strap-On Harness Deluxe. None of the five Swedish stores fill the gap either. The only thing to go on is the distributor’s information: Scala states the package dimensions as 27.5 × 12.5 × 8.5 centimeters and the weight as 0.33 kilo per unit, with country of manufacture China and an outer carton of 48 units.

The weight of 0.33 kilos is a distributor claim intended for shipping and storage, not a product weight measured without packaging. Treat it as an upper limit: the harness itself surely weighs less than 330 grams, but how much less is not shown by any source. The package dimensions, on the other hand, can be used directly—27.5 × 12.5 × 8.5 centimeters is a box in the format of a smaller shoebox, and it is large enough to show up in the shipping cost at stores that price based on volume.

The O-rings: 3.5 and 4.5 centimeters, and what they limit

The inner diameter of the ring should match the dildo’s shaft diameter just above the base—not the base’s width, and not the dildo’s thickest point. Taboom provides no size, no adjustment range, and no size guide for Strap-On Harness Deluxe, and the harness is not sold in different sizes either—there is only one item, 17166 in red. What can be established is that the manufacturer, in other parts of its range, publishes size tables with waist and neck measurements for its wearable harnesses, but not for this one. Without that information, the only reasonable advice is to check the shop’s return terms before you order, and to be extra attentive if you are far from an average hip circumference in either direction.

There is one more thing that isn’t published and that matters in practice: the width of the straps. A wide strap distributes pressure over a larger area and cuts less into the skin under load, whereas a narrow strap does the opposite. The manufacturer does not state the width of the straps, and no shop does either. The pictures show narrow bands in the thigh straps and a wide section in the back, but a picture is not a measurement.

Why the back support matters for heavier dildos

The physics behind the Deluxe back section is simple. Cleaning, care, and storage

Taboom does not publish any washing instructions, any care instructions, and no IP rating for this harness, and none of the shops reproduce any of that. It’s a noticeable gap for a product made of four materials, two of which—PU-coated fabric and foamed neoprene—behave completely differently in water.

What can be established based on the materials is this. Neoprene is closed-cell foam and does not absorb water into the material, but it dries slowly if it gets soaked, because moisture remains in the seams and between layers. The PU layer withstands wiping, but it does not do well when it is soaked, heated up, or exposed to alcohol and solvents, which can make the surface look dull or brittle. The polypropylene band tolerates water without any problem. Metal fittings tolerate water but should be dried so they don’t leave moisture stains in the material around them.

The practical conclusion is that the harness should be wiped off with a damp cloth and mild soap rather than rinsed under the tap, and that it should air-dry completely before being put away. Machine washing and boiling are out of the question for a product with PU-coated fabric and glued rivet fastenings. Store it flat or hanging rather than folded — a crease in a PU layer that stays in place for a long time eventually becomes a crack.

The question of lubricant belongs here, but it applies to the dildo rather than the harness. Use a water-based lubricant if the dildo is made of silicone: silicone-based lubricant breaks down the silicone surface over time and makes it porous, and a porous surface can no longer be cleaned properly. The list price from the manufacturer is 27.99 euros versus 35.99 euros for Deluxe. The difference lies in how the harness takes up force: the standard model is described with a front pad and adjustable front fastenings, while Deluxe has a large supportive back section that expressly states that it can handle heavier dildos.

What this means in practice is that the choice comes down to where the pressure ends up. A front pad provides the most benefit for someone who is bothered by the dildo’s base pressing against the pubic bone. A wider back section provides the most benefit for longer or heavier dildos, because it counteracts the front part being pulled downward. Neither of the models is an upgrade of the other in every respect — but only Deluxe has the manufacturer’s explicit specification about heavier dildos, and that is the only source-cited argument for the price difference.

The third variant, Strap-On Harness with Dong S for 39.99 euro, is based on the standard part and includes a silicone dildo with a total length of 12.5 centimeters. If you’re completely new and want everything in one package, it’s a reasonable first purchase—but then you get the standard part’s construction, not the Deluxe back.

Against Fetish Fantasy Elite Perfect Fit Harness — 140 SEK more, but with measurements

Fetish Fantasy Elite Perfect Fit Harness costs 499 SEK at Vuxen, i.e. 140 SEK more than Taboom Deluxe costs at the lowest price in stock. For that difference, you get three things that Taboom doesn’t provide.

The first is size data: Vuxen states that the harness fits waist measurements up to 173 centimeters and thigh measurements up to 76 centimeters. The second is the rings: three silicone rings instead of two, and an indicated upper limit of a five-centimeter dildo diameter, compared with Taboom’s 4.5. The third is the material: soft nylon with plastic buckles instead of PU-coated fabric with metal rivets—that is, a material that can be washed significantly better and that can’t crack in the outer surface layer.

What Taboom has left on its side is appearance and price. The red PU harness with gold-colored rivets is a design product in a way that a black nylon harness isn’t, and it costs 140 SEK less. If you choose based on the stated data, Fetish Fantasy clearly wins. If you choose based on appearance and price, Taboom wins just as clearly. It’s rare for a comparison in this category to be this one-sided.

Against No-Parts Taylor — 190 SEK more expensive and the widest ring span

No-Parts Taylor Adjustable Strap On Harness with Double O-Ring costs 549 SEK at Vuxen, i.e. 190 SEK more than Taboom Deluxe. Like Taboom, it has two rings, but the span is stated as three to six centimeters dildo diameter—meaning both a lower bottom and a significantly higher ceiling than Taboom’s 3.5 to 4.5. Hip circumference is stated to be up to 140 centimeters, and the harness is adjusted using both Velcro straps and buckles.

Velcro instead of just buckles is a real difference in handling. It’s quicker to put on and take off, and it provides stepless adjustment instead of fixed positions, but the Velcro straps lose grip when they collect lint and textile fibers. Buckles keep their grip but are adjusted in steps. Which is best depends on whether you prioritize speed or longevity.

No-Parts also states that it’s body-safe and free from phthalates in Vuxen’s product text. That wording is missing from Taboom’s own description—which doesn’t mean Taboom contains phthalates, only that the manufacturer doesn’t make the promise. PU and neoprene are not materials that normally require plasticizers, but the difference in what is actually written is worth noting when you compare two products by specification.

Price range: 300 to 395 SEK and three stores with stock

Five Swedish stores list the item with EAN 8713221824431. The cheapest is Vuxenkul at 300 SEK, and the most expensive is Joyland at 395 SEK. That’s a 95 SEK difference, or 32 percent, for the same item number and the same packaging. The manufacturer’s own suggested retail price of 35.99 euro sits roughly in the middle of the Swedish range.

The inventory situation changes the picture completely. Neither of the two cheapest stores had the item in stock during the price check: Vuxenkul at 300 SEK and Sexonic at 320 SEK were both sold out. The three stores that had it at the time were Vuxen and Blush Me at 359 SEK each, and Joyland at 395 SEK. That means the real price difference for someone who wants the item delivered now is 36 SEK, not 95—and that anyone waiting for Vuxenkul’s restock runs the risk that the price may have changed by the time the item comes back in.

Two of the stores also list a regular price that’s clearly higher than what they charge: Vuxenkul states 429 SEK as the regular price, and Joyland 499 SEK. The price spread isn’t because a store sells a different variant—Vuxenkul and Sexonic both publish EAN 8713221824431 on their product pages, and the other three list the item under their own item numbers tied to the same product. This comes down to the stores’ own margin-setting.

The prices in the table above are updated when the stores’ product feeds are updated, but always check the final price at checkout. In this price range, all stores are below the threshold for free shipping, which means shipping costs can wipe out the entire difference between the cheapest and the most expensive seller—and that it often pays to put the dildo in the same order instead of ordering it separately.

Who is Taboom Strap-On Harness Deluxe for—and who is it not for?

It’s for you if you already own a dildo with a wide, flat base or a suction cup and you want a harness that looks like something more than a black nylon strap. It’s for you if you want a wide back section rather than a front cushion, if you want to be able to switch between two ring sizes, and if you want to keep the cost down—359 SEK in stock is cheaper than both of the compared competitors, and 300 SEK when Vuxenkul has it in stock is cheaper than almost everything else in the category that isn’t pure budget.

It’s not for you if you need to know that it fits before you order. Without a published waist measurement, the only way to find out is to try it—and that’s a bad position for a hygiene product where the right of withdrawal is, in practice, limited once the seal has been broken. There, both Fetish Fantasy Elite and No-Parts Taylor are safer buys despite costing 140 and 190 SEK more, respectively.

It also doesn’t fit you if you know you want to use a large dildo. The upper ring size of 4.5 centimeters is below both of the competitors’ thresholds, and a harness that grows out of you is an expensive harness regardless of the purchase price. And it doesn’t fit you if you want to be able to throw the harness into the washing machine between occasions—PU-coated textile with rivet fastenings should be wiped off, not washed, and the manufacturer doesn’t even publish an instruction to follow.

One more thing belongs in the decision. This is a harness without a dildo, and a dildo with the right base diameter normally costs more than the harness itself. So factor in the total cost when you compare it to a ready-made strap-on set—for example Taboom’s own Strap-On Harness with Dong S, which for 39.99 euro includes both a harness and a 12.5-centimeter dildo, although it’s on the standard harness’s construction.

Warranty, complaint handling, and right of withdrawal

Taboom does not publish any voluntary manufacturer warranty for Strap-On Harness Deluxe, either on the product page or on the brand’s other pages, and none of the five Swedish stores commits to any own warranty for the item. That’s different from several brands in adjacent categories, where five or fifteen years of manufacturer warranty is normal—but it’s also more common in textile and leather goods than in electronics, because wear is harder to distinguish from defects.

What always applies are your statutory rights, and they are independent of what the manufacturer commits to.
