Late-X latex stockings in black, size S/M, in brief

Late-X Latex Stockings are thigh-high stockings entirely in shiny, black natural latex with a shaped foot portion. Late-X — as the manufacturer itself writes Late X — is one of German Orion’s own brands, and the stockings are sold under the name Stockings to resellers and Strümpfe aus Latex, lang to consumers. This review covers size S/M, with Orion’s item number 29000411111 and EAN 4024144341832.

What the manufacturer publishes is brief but concrete: 100 percent latex, a material thickness of 0.35 millimeter, an explicit warning that natural rubber latex can cause allergies, the country of origin is the Netherlands, and a recommended consumer price of 59.95 euro. What’s missing is just as clear. Orion does not state any measurements for the stockings — no leg length, no foot size, no thigh measurement — and the size guide is a general table for women’s clothing with bust, waist, and hip measurements.

In Sweden, the S/M variant is sold by five stores at prices between 499 and 659 SEK. Four of them had it in stock at the price check on 12 September 2026. The review of the five store pages also turned up several deviations from the manufacturer’s information — about the thickness, the weight, and in one case about the product itself — that are worth knowing before you place an order.

What kind of stockings are they?

Orion’s wholesaler description calls them thigh-high stockings in shiny latex that can be combined with different outfits. The English text Orion itself publishes on the wholesaler page says "Thigh-high, black stockings that complete every latex outfit". According to the consumer page, the delivery contents are a pair of Late X stockings—no garter straps, no care product.

The manufacturer’s product image on an invisible mannequin shows the construction: a smooth stocking without visible seams along the leg, a straight finish at the top, and a completely closed, shaped foot. Adults describe the same thing with the words "Med en formad fotdel. Utan skor." — meaning that the foot is part of the stocking and that the pictures do not show shoes. Neither Orion nor the stores mention any silicone band or other stay-up feature at the edge. One of Orion’s model images shows the stockings attached to a suspender holder.

Orion marks the product for both women and men in the wholesaler’s properties, while the size guide that comes with it is the manufacturer’s table for women’s ready-to-wear. The stores place the stockings under different headings: Mshop as "Sexy Bodystockings", Vuxenkul as "Pantyhose/stayups", and Lekosmek, among other listings, under "Stay Ups" and "Wetlook".

S/M, four sizes, and why the EAN number decides

The stockings come in four sizes from the manufacturer: XS, S/M, L/XL, and 2XL. Each size has its own item number and its own EAN. Orion’s variant table links XS to 29000411011 and 4024144341825, S/M to 29000411111 and 4024144341832, L/XL to 29000411131 and 4024144341849, and 2XL to 29000411141 and 4024144341856.

All five Swedish stores sell the same size under EAN 4024144341832. Lekosmek and Taboo link the "S/M" variant to Orion’s item number 29000411111 in their product data, and Mshop and Vuxenkul publish the EAN number on their S/M pages. Vuxen uses its own item number, 29000411110, but the store’s images and product data are based on Orion’s item 29000411011, and the page explicitly refers to S/M.

The stores’ size lists differ. Lekosmek and Taboo sell only S/M and L/XL, while Vuxen, Mshop, and Vuxenkul have all four sizes. Vuxen’s product text says "Available in size between S-XXL" despite the size selector on the same page starting at XS, and Mshop writes "four sizes from XS - XXL" about what, with Orion, is called 2XL.

Material: 100 percent natural latex, 0.35 millimeters

The material declaration is simple: 100 percent latex. Orion specifies on both the wholesaler’s side and the consumer side that the thickness is 0.35 millimeters, and that the stockings are made of natural rubber latex, which can cause allergies. The same warning appears in the manufacturer’s customer information as a PDF and in the product text on Orion’s own Swedish wholesaler page.

What is the difference between latex, vinyl, and wetlook?

In retail, the words "latex", "lacquer", "vinyl", and "wetlook" are used interchangeably for shiny garments, but they describe different materials. Latex here is natural rubber—an elastic material that is not woven and has no textile base. These stockings contain neither polyester, elastane, nor any coating; the entire garment is rubber.

Compare with Orion’s own latex clothing under the Black Level brand. There, Orion states that the material is 100 percent polyester with a polyurethane coating for Black Level Vinyl Trousers — a textile with a glossy surface. And in the NO:XQSE set with garter belt hardware in wetlook, Orion states 92 percent polyester and 8 percent elastane for the holder, and 100 percent polyamide for the stockings. In that case, wetlook is a glossy stretch textile. The latex stockings are something else: a thin rubber membrane.

The difference comes down to two things for the buyer. The first is the risk of allergy, which only applies to natural latex. The second is care: a textile tolerates detergent and water in the usual way, while latex reacts with oils, grease, perfume, and certain metals according to Orion. Both are discussed below.

Do the stockings contain PVC or phthalates?

No, not according to the material declaration. The question about phthalates mainly concerns soft PVC, and PVC is not included in the declaration. The material is natural rubber. The manufacturer also does not publish any list of additives in the latex — vulcanizing agents, colorants, or anything else — and neither do any of the shops.

0.35 or 0.33 millimeter?

Thickness is the only numerical specification about the material itself that Orion publishes, and it is given differently by the shops. Lekosmek, Taboo, and Vuxenkul list 0.35 millimeters, as does the manufacturer. Mshop lists “Thickness 0.33 mm” in its list of highlights. The manufacturer’s specification applies, and the difference is small, but it shows that the shop texts are not always copied directly from the manufacturer.

As a reference within the same brand, Orion does not publish any thickness at all for Late-X red latex stockings, which are instead described as flat dipped and lightly translucent. For the black stockings, the manufacturer does not state a manufacturing method.

Weight and packaging

Orion’s wholesaler page shows the XS variant as standard, and for it the weight is 247 grams and the packaging dimensions are 15 × 3.5 × 21 centimeters. The manufacturer does not publish a separate weight for S/M. The shops provide other figures: Lekosmek and Taboo list 250 grams for both S/M and L/XL, and Mshop lists 0.36 kilos with packaging dimensions of 20.5 × 15 × 3.5 centimeters. Mshop’s weight is likely a shipping weight including the box, but the shop does not say which it is.

The packaging is a box with a model photo on the front and the Late-X logo, and the manufacturer’s image of it shows boxes for the sizes XS, S/M, L/XL, and 2XL at the bottom. Orion states 35 units per carton, HS tariff number 40159000, and the Netherlands as the country of origin. The same brand’s lace-edged latex stockings are instead listed as having Poland as the country of origin, so the manufacturing location differs between the articles in the series.

Latex allergy: the most important thing to know before buying

The allergy warning is the manufacturer’s own and is shown on the product page, in the customer information, and in Orion’s Swedish product text: the socks are made of natural rubber latex, which can cause allergies. For a garment that covers the entire leg and foot, this is the most significant point.

Netdoktor describes latex allergy as a reaction to proteins found in natural rubber, and notes that synthetic latex does not contain those proteins. Reactions vary from skin redness, rash, blisters, and itching to a runny nose, itchy eyes, and asthma, and in very rare cases anaphylactic shock. Symptoms most often come on after a few minutes, but the reaction can be delayed for several hours after contact. According to Netdoktor, someone who is allergic to avocado, banana, kiwi, or chestnut also has an increased risk of latex allergy.

How common it is has been summarized by Läkartidningen (the Journal of the Swedish Medical Association): a systematic literature review from 2006 found a prevalence of 1.4 percent in the general population and 4.3 percent among healthcare professionals. If you have a latex allergy, or suspect that you do, these socks are not an option — Netdoktor states that direct contact with natural rubber products should be avoided. The manufacturer’s customer information also urges you to remove the product and, if necessary, contact a doctor if irritation or other problems occur.

Are there latex-free alternatives?

Not in this series — all Late-X socks that Orion lists alongside these are made of 100 percent latex. For a plain opaque thigh-high option without natural rubber in the material declaration, you can look to wetlook or vinyl garments in textile, such as the NO:XQSE set with garter belt holders, or Leg Avenue’s fishnet socks with a vinyl edge, which are compared further down. They provide a different surface and a different material, but not the same allergy risk.

Fit and size guide: a table for dresses

Here the socks have their clearest weakness. The size guide Orion links to is the manufacturer’s general size chart for women’s apparel, with bust, waist, and hip measurements. In the table, S corresponds to a clothing size 36/38 with a bust of 82–89, a waist of 65–73, and a hip of 92–98 centimeters, and M corresponds to 40/42 with a bust of 90–97, a waist of 74–81, and a hip of 99–104 centimeters. So according to the table, size S/M covers clothing sizes 36 to 42 and a hip measurement of 92–104 centimeters.

An adult (Vuxen) reproduces the same figures in its size guide under the heading “Cottelli Size Chart”—the same manufacturer, but a different brand name than the one the store sells the socks under. Lekosmek, Taboo, Mshop, and Vuxenkul do not publish any size chart.

How do you choose a size for latex socks?

That is exactly the question a customer asked on Orion’s own consumer page in September 2026: that waist and bust measurements are not relevant for socks and that foot or shoe size should be the starting point. The answer published under the question is that you can base it on EU size, with S as 36/38, M as 40/42, and so on. The answer also includes a typo—L is listed as “44/66” instead of the chart’s 44/46.

What can be established is that the manufacturer does not publish leg length, thigh width, calf width, or shoe size, and none of the five stores does either. For a garment with a closed, shaped foot, the shoe size is the piece of information you most want—a sock with an open toe or without a foot can be pulled up or down a bit, but a shaped foot sits where it sits. When buying S/M, it is therefore ready-to-wear size 36–42 that is the only published reference point, and it says nothing about how tall you are or what shoe size you have.

Latex’s stretchiness provides some leeway: Orion’s customer information describes latex as extremely stretchy but also easy to damage. A combined size like S/M, which is supposed to cover four ready-to-wear sizes, is built on exactly that stretch. In practice, that means the person at the upper end of the range—ready-to-wear size 42—stretches the material more than the person with 36, and therefore puts more strain on it when putting it on and taking it off.

How do you put on latex socks?

The manufacturer’s customer information has its own section on how latex garments should be put on, with advice that applies especially to socks. Before putting them on, the inside is lightly powdered with latex powder, or a special oil suitable for latex products is used. Socks, tights, and gloves are rolled down as far as possible, and the air is pressed out before the product is pulled over the toes. Then it is rolled back up again without letting any air back in.

Orion also warns about sharp objects: hair clips, jewelry, and long nails can damage the latex. On the manufacturer’s care page for latex clothing, it states that latex is robust thanks to its elasticity, but that a small hole is enough for the material to split. The same page suggests gloves as protection against long nails when putting the product on and taking it off.

Two stores give their own advice. Vuxen says that it’s easier to put on tight latex clothing if the inside has been dusted with talc first. Lekosmek instead recommends a silicone-based lubricant to make it easier to pull on the stockings and to enhance the shine. Both are store claims, not the manufacturer’s wording—but they point in the same direction as Orion’s own range, as shown in the next section.

Latex care: powder, silicone, and no regular oils

Latex requires different care than textiles, and there’s a contradiction in Orion’s own texts here that’s worth clearing up.

Oil or silicone — what should you use on latex?

Orion’s customer information for the article says that the inside can be treated with "a special oil that is suitable for latex products" before putting it on. At the same time, Orion’s care page for latex clothing says that latex should be kept away from oils, and that fat, perfume, oils and certain metals — copper, brass, and bronze — react with latex, so direct contact should be avoided. The care product Orion itself sells under the brand Late X for shine, Latex-Glanz-Spray, is described as a silicone spray for lacquer and latex clothing.

Vuxen’s latex questions provide the interpretation that ties it together: oils, except silicone-based ones, can damage latex. 1177 describes the same property of latex in another context — that fat-based products like oil or skin cream can loosen the protective layer of rubber so it breaks more easily, while water-based and silicone-based lubricants work with latex.

So what can be established is this: the "special oil" mentioned in the customer information should be understood as a silicone-based care product, not as regular oil. Massage oil, baby oil, petroleum jelly, skin cream, and body lotion don’t belong on latex stockings. Orion’s care page also recommends that you shower beforehand and not use deodorant or perfume afterward, because the latex absorbs such things.

How do you wash latex stockings?

According to the customer information, the product should be cleaned before first use and then by hand after each use, in clear, lukewarm water with a special laundry detergent or a mild soap. Soap residue is rinsed off with cold water. After washing, the product is rubbed dry with a soft, lint-free cloth; larger items should be laid on a towel with the inside first and the outside afterward.

Orion’s care page specifies a temperature: hand wash in lukewarm water, about 30 °C, with a detergent that contains no fat. The consumer page summarizes it as gentle hand washing with fine-fabric detergent. Vuxen gives the washing advice as hand wash and "Not to be ironed". Machine washing, tumble drying, and dry cleaning are not mentioned by the manufacturer. The advice is hand washing.

Storage: powder, darkness, and being alone

The completely dry product is lightly dusted with latex powder before storage. Orion’s consumer information explains why: the powder prevents the latex from sticking together, which can otherwise damage the surface. The stockings are stored clean, cool, and dry, without direct sunlight and high air humidity. According to the care page, too much sun can make the latex look dull and fade.

The customer information also states that latex products should be stored separately and not together with products made of other materials, to avoid chemical reactions. For stockings with a shaped foot, there is advice that is especially relevant: Orion states that shoe inserts can discolor latex. So anyone wearing the stockings in shoes should expect that the foot part is the part exposed the most—both for discoloration and for wear.

Longevity: what determines its service life

The manufacturer publishes no expected service life and no manufacturer warranty. What can be established from Orion’s texts is which factors the manufacturer itself highlights: sharp objects and nails, oil, grease, and perfume, metals such as copper and brass, sun, shoe inserts, and storage together with other materials. Everything applies to the surface and the membrane—there is no textile base that keeps the garment together if the latex gets a hole.

In practice, this means that the service life is determined to a greater extent than for textile patent-leather garments by how the stockings are handled when putting them on and taking them off, and by how they are stored. A vinyl dress made of PU-coated polyester can get a scratch on the surface and still hold together; a 0.35-millimeter latex membrane has no such support.

Late-X latex thigh-highs compared with the alternatives

Four comparisons are relevant: versus Late-X’s own latex thigh-highs in other designs, versus two cheaper thigh-high alternatives in textile, and versus a Black Level item in the same price range. The Swedish prices come from the same product flows and the same price monitoring on September 12, 2026.

Against Late-X red and lace-edged latex thigh-highs

Orion sells at least two other latex thigh-high stockings under Late-Latex, both with the same recommended consumer price of 59.95 euro. The red stockings are described as dip-dyed plain and lightly translucent, and weigh 220 grams in XS according to Orion—27 grams less than the black ones in the same size. The stockings with a lace-patterned latex edge weigh 286 grams and, according to Orion, are made in Poland, while the black and red ones are listed as coming from the Netherlands.

What the black stockings have that the red ones lack in Orion’s description is a published thickness. Anyone who wants a tight, completely black stocking has in the black ones the only one of the three with a specified material thickness.

Against Leg Avenue Vinyl Top Fishnet Thigh Highs

Leg Avenues mesh stockings with a wide vinyl trim are the cheapest thigh-high option with a glossy detail: from 169 SEK at Blush Me, and 209 to 279 SEK at Vuxen, Taboo, and Lekosmek. Leg Avenue sells them in one size, One Size, which according to the manufacturer’s size chart applies to a length of 4′11″–5′9″ and a weight of 90–165 pounds — approximately 150–175 centimeters and 41–75 kilos. The care advice is hand wash in cold water, no bleaching, and drip dry.

The comparison shows two completely different garments. Leg Avenue’s stocking is a mesh stocking where only the trim is glossy, and it has no natural latex listed in its description. The Late-X stocking is glossy latex from toe to thigh. Anyone who wants the latex surface has no option for 169 SEK; anyone who wants a thigh-high fetish detail without latex allergy risk and without special latex care gets it for one-third of the price.

Against NO:XQSE wetlook garter belt holder set

The NO:XQSE set with wetlook garter belt holders and matching stockings (which Vuxen sells under the name Mandy Mystery) cost 249 SEK in size XL at Vuxen, Lekosmek, and Taboo. According to Orion, the holder is made of 92 percent polyester and 8 percent elastane, the stockings are made of 100 percent polyamide, and the recommended consumer price is 24,95 euro.

The set includes the Late-X stockings that lack — a garter belt holder — while the latex stockings are delivered as a pair of stockings and nothing else. The glossy surface is on the holder in the set, not on the stockings. For 250 SEK more, you get stockings in glossy natural latex at Vuxen or Mshop, but no holder to attach them with.

Against Black Level vinyl dress

As a reference within the same price range, Black Level vinyl dress with flared skirt in XS cost 419 SEK at Vuxen and 599 SEK at Lekosmek and Taboo in the same price check. The dress is an all-in-one garment made of PU-coated polyester with a complete size chart; the stockings are an accessory in natural latex with a general chart that does not describe the stockings. For anyone who wants to build a glossy outfit, the comparison shows that the latex costs more per garment than textile lacquer from the same manufacturer, and that it requires more of the care.

Price range: 499 to 659 SEK

Five Swedish stores sell the stockings with EAN 4024144341832. The cheapest is Vuxen and Mshop at 499 SEK, followed by Lekosmek and Taboo at 599 SEK and Vuxenkul at 659 SEK. Vuxen, Mshop, Lekosmek, and Taboo had S/M in stock during the price check on September 12, 2026; Vuxenkul did not. The difference between the lowest and highest price is 160 SEK.

Vuxen states that the lowest price over the last 30 days was 499 SEK, i.e. the same as today’s price — it’s not a campaign price. The manufacturer’s recommended consumer price is 59,95 euro.

Shipping affects what you actually pay. Vuxen offers free shipping for 799 SEK and delivery within 1–2 days, Mshop has shipping starting from 39 SEK and free shipping over 999 SEK, and Vuxenkul has free shipping over 699 SEK for adult products only. A purchase of only the socks does not meet any of these thresholds.

When the stores contradict each other

The review of the five store pages found five discrepancies from the manufacturer’s data. None of them means that any store sells the wrong variant—the EAN number matches for everyone—but they show that the store text is a worse source than the manufacturer’s.

Vuxenkul’s product text. Vuxenkul’s page for the black socks has the correct EAN, the color black, and a thickness of 0.35 millimeters, but the description says "Feel how comfortably these red latex socks fit … The thigh-high socks are lightly translucent". It is word-for-word Orion’s Swedish text for Late-X red latex socks, another item. The black variant is not described by the manufacturer as translucent.

Thickness. Orion, Lekosmek, Taboo, and Vuxenkul state 0.35 millimeters; Mshop states 0.33 millimeters. The manufacturer’s information applies.

Weight. Orion states 247 grams for XS and no listed weight for S/M. Lekosmek and Taboo state 250 grams for all their sizes, and Mshop states 0.36 kilograms.

Sizes. Vuxen writes "S-XXL" but sells XS, and Lekosmek and Taboo only have two of the manufacturer’s four sizes.

Size guide. Vuxen’s measurement table has the heading "Cottelli size chart" even though the socks are sold as Late-X. The numbers are identical to Orion’s size chart for women’s ready-to-wear, so it is the heading and not the content that’s misleading.

Who are the socks for—and who aren’t they for?

They’re for you if you want thigh-high socks in genuine natural latex, with a clear material declaration—100 percent latex, 0.35 millimeters—and a shaped foot. The manufacturer publishes the country of origin, thickness, and detailed care instructions for latex, which is more than many accessories in the category provide.

They’re for you if you already have latex clothing, or are prepared to add latex powder and a silicone-based care product. Without them, putting them on and taking them off and storing them becomes more difficult, and Orion’s own advice is based on the fact that they are available.

They’re not for you if you have a latex allergy or suspect that you do. They’re also not for you if you need to know your leg length or shoe size before buying, because that information isn’t there, and not for you who want stay-up socks that sit up on their own—the manufacturer mentions no such function. And they’re not for you who want to be able to return them after trying them on, which is addressed below.

Complaints, right of withdrawal, and the hygiene exception

Orion does not specify any manufacturer warranty. What applies are your statutory rights. Under the Consumer Sales Act (konsumentköplagen), you have three years to make a complaint about defects in the item—a defect that already existed at delivery, for example a defect in the materials. A hole that arises during use, on the other hand, is not an original defect.

In addition, for distance purchases you also have a 14-day right of withdrawal under the Act on Distance Contracts and Contracts Outside Business Premises. Konsumentverket (the Swedish Consumer Agency) advises that the right of withdrawal does not apply to goods that are sealed for health or hygiene reasons and where the seal has been broken. For socks that are worn directly against the skin, this is a relevant question, and Mshop states expressly that the right of return for hygiene reasons does not apply to garments that are worn on the lower body, including tights and body stockings. Mshop categorizes these specific socks as "Sexy Bodystockings".

Orion’s customer information also urges you to always wear panties when trying on the manufacturer’s clothes. Read the store’s return terms before you order, especially since the size must be chosen without measuring leg length or foot size.
