For most people, a torso—a heavy masturbator shaped like part of a body—is a more manageable choice than a full sex doll: it stays in place under its own weight, but you can lift it, rinse it, and put it away. Choose based on weight, number of channels, and material, and expect that caring for soft TPE or TPR takes as much time as the actual use.
The word sex doll is used for several fairly different products. What is most often sold under that name is actually a torso or a torso masturbator: a solid cast of soft elastomer that depicts part of a body—hips and buttocks, a torso with breasts, or an entire section from neck to thigh—with one or two channels. The weight typically ranges from three to ten kilograms.
An inflatable doll is something completely different. It’s made of thin PVC, weighs less than half a kilogram, and gets its shape from air. It’s cheap and easy to hide away, but the feel and durability are far from a molded torso.
Three questions determine your choice. How much can you manage to lift and carry to the sink or shower each time? Do you want one or two channels, and if so, separate ones? And do you have space to store something as big as a suitcase? Also be prepared for the documentation to be thin throughout the category. Of the torsos we have reviewed, none scores higher than 5.7 out of 10, and the reason is almost always the same: the manufacturers publish weight and external dimensions, but rarely the depth of the channels, a phthalate declaration, or a warranty period. The butt masturbator is the smallest variant: a buttocks-and-hips section without an upper body. It’s compact and the easiest type to handle — Hidden Desire Big Ass Bangermeasures 21 × 22,5 × 13 centimeters according to the manufacturer.
Torson is the medium format and the most common. It has more of the body with it—often a torso and sometimes a bust—and it weighs more. There are also masculine variants here: Hidden Desire Ride My Hard Dickis a 4,5-kilo torso with a bendable penis and a textured anal tunnel.
The half- and full-body formats cover more of the body. Hidden Desire Horny Nymphogoes from the neck to the thighs, and Pipedream Fuck Me Silly Mega Masturbator #2is a full upper body measuring 60,9 × 39,4 × 23,9 centimeters. The larger the format, the more the product resembles a doll—and the heavier it becomes to clean.
The inflatable doll often has a fixed pose. CalExotics Anime Wrap Around Love Doll Kikiis made of phthalate-free PVC according to the manufacturer, weighs 0,41 kg, and has arms and legs that wrap around the user. The manufacturer only states that it is in natural size and does not publish any inflated measurements.
Weight is the torso’s whole point: a heavy casting stays put on the bed without anyone having to hold it. But every kilo also has to be lifted to the sink or shower after each use, turned under during rinsing, and carried to storage.
Three to five kilos can be handled with one hand and fit in a larger box. Sex to eight kilos provides more stability but requires both hands. Over eight kilos, the product is heavy to carry, and the packaging becomes large: Hidden Desire Big Fat Banging BabeWeighs 10 kilos and is delivered in a cardboard box measuring 42 × 38 × 21 centimeters.
Look at the dimensions, not just the weight. Two torsos with similar weight can have completely different shapes: Hidden Desire Fat Fuck QueenWeighs 6 kilos on 31 × 25 × 16 centimeters, short and wide, while Pipedream’s full-body model weighs 7.5 kilos but is over 60 centimeters long.
Also factor in that weight figures sometimes vary. For several of the torsos, more than one value is circulating—the product name, the packaging, and the specification can list different numbers, and sometimes the number refers to the product with the box. Rely on the manufacturer’s specifications.
Many sex dolls have two openings, one vaginal and one anal. But that doesn’t always mean two channels. On Pipedream Fuck Me Silly #2, both openings lead into the same channel according to the manufacturer. On Hidden Desires Fat Fuck Queen and Big Fat Banging Babe, the manufacturer’s cutaway images instead show two separate channels with different texture.
Separate channels provide two different sensations and can be rinsed separately. A shared channel gives the same sensation regardless of opening, but in return it’s one single passage to rinse through. No matter the construction, the channels are permanently cast into the body: they can’t be removed or turned inside out, which is the big difference compared to a masturbator sleeve.
The insertion depth is the measurement that most often is missing. For several of the sex dolls, the manufacturer publishes no depth at all; the only thing you can say is that the channel can’t be longer than the depth of the body. If you need an exact measurement before purchase, choose a model where the manufacturer states it, like Pipedream’s approximate 17.8 centimeters.
Nearly all cast sex dolls are made of TPE, thermoplastic elastomer, or TPR, which is normally considered a subgroup of TPE. Manufacturers often use trade names like Realistic Love Skin or Fanta Flesh, but it’s the same material family. For Hidden Desire Virgin Fuck Babe and Horny Nympho, the manufacturer even lists both designations on the same product page.
In practice, they have the same properties and the same care requirements. They’re soft and skin-like, but porous: the surface has microscopic cavities where moisture and residue can remain. They can be cleaned but not sterilized, and they are thermoplastics that soften with heat. Hidden Desires Bangers-manual also states that the material is flammable and should be kept away from open flames, heat sources, and direct sunlight.
Inflatable dolls are made of PVC. Soft PVC needs plasticizers, and that’s why a phthalate declaration is more meaningful there than on a TPE sex doll. CalExotics lists phthalate-free PVC for Kiki both in the specifications and on the packaging. For the cast sex dolls, a phthalate declaration is generally missing from the manufacturer—this isn’t proof that phthalates are present, but it’s a gap in the documentation.
If you want a non-porous surface, silicone is the material to go with, but none of the sex dolls in this guide are made of silicone. More about the differences is in safe materials in sex toys.
Most sex dolls are completely without electronics. That’s an advantage: no battery that ages, no charging contact, and nothing that can break, and the casting can handle water during cleaning.
A vibrating torso provides more function but places demands on cleaning.Hidden Desire Fuck My Horny Vibrating CuntIt has ten vibration settings and a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, but it is only rated IPX5. According to the IEC 60529 standard, that means protection against water jets but not against submersion—channels can be rinsed, but the product must not be placed in the bathtub. Big Ass Banger solves it differently: two bullet vibrators on a cable that can be completely removed before cleaning.
Water-based, and nothing else. It’s the only type the torso manufacturers state—Hidden Desires Bangers manual, Pipedreams manual, and CalExotics packaging all say the same. TPE and TPR have no moisture of their own, so be generous with the amount.
Silicone-based lubricant can seep into soft elastomer and make the surface sticky and worse to clean. Oils—massage oil, coconut oil, petroleum jelly—leave a film that can’t be rinsed out of a channel you can’t reach. Cleaning is what determines how long a torso lasts. The Hidden Desires Bangers manual is the most specific instruction among the products we’ve gone through, and it provides a good basic routine:
1. Rinse the channels with warm—never hot—soapy water directly after use, and keep rinsing until no soap residue remains. If the torso has two separate channels, rinse both.
2. Dry the channels completely on the inside with a clean, dry cloth. Moisture that remains in a blind channel does not dry out on its own.
3. Clean the outside with a mild shower foam or soapy water and dry it with a soft, light-colored towel. Dark textiles can bleed onto light TPE, and such discoloration can’t be washed off.
4. Dust the channels and surface with a maintenance powder if the manufacturer recommends it, as Hidden Desire does. The powder helps prevent the surface from becoming sticky.
Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions when they differ. Pipedream Fuck Me Silly #2 has a foam core that permanently shrinks if it gets wet: it must never be submerged, and water may only be flushed in and out through the front openings—never through the opening on the back. An inflatable doll like Kiki is, according to the manufacturer, to be washed before and after each use, and it’s easiest to dry when it’s still inflated.
Never boil a torso and never put it in the dishwasher: the material softens from heat, and a heavy casting can deform. If the product has vibration, remove it or keep the electronics dry according to its ingress protection rating. More advice per material is in How to clean sex toys.
Hidden Desires’ manual states that the torsos should be stored lying on their backs on a soft surface and never in a bent position, because an internal frame could otherwise be damaged. Keep them away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and hard or sharp surfaces. Pipedream specifies cool and dry.
Store the torso clean, dry, and dusted, preferably in a light fabric cover or in its own drawer, and not in contact with other toys or dark fabrics. A heavy torso takes up about as much space as a small suitcase; an inflatable doll fits in a drawer when the air is out.
Discretion begins already at delivery. The boxes are large: according to the manufacturer, a torso weighing 8.5 kilos is shipped in a box measuring 36.5 × 36 × 24.5 centimeters, while Kiki’s packaging is only 5 × 18.25 × 27.75 centimeters. More advice is in How to store sex toys.
Buying one that’s too heavy. A torso that’s too heavy to carry to the shower won’t be cleaned properly. Choose a weight you can handle every time.
Using the wrong lubricant. Silicone- or oil-based lubricants can permanently damage the surface of a TPE torso—and for a one-piece body there’s no part you can replace.
Trusting the word “waterproof.” Several torsos are listed as waterproof without an enclosure rating, a vibrating model is only IPX5, and Pipedreams’ model must not be submerged at all. Rely on the manufacturer’s manual, not a headline.
Putting it away while it’s damp or bent. Moisture in the channels and storage in a bent position are the two things the manufacturer’s manual explicitly warns against.
Sharing it. Porous materials can’t be sterilized, and the channels can’t be turned inside out. A torso should be personal.
A torso suits someone who wants something that stays in place thanks to its own weight, preferably with more body to hold onto than a sleeve, and who has both the space and the patience for care. It’s less suitable for someone who lives in cramped quarters, shares storage with others, or wants to be able to wash the toy quickly.
