Svakom models explained: heating, app and what sets them apart

The Svakom models fall into four groups. For external stimulation there is the finger vibrator Echo 2 and Klitty, which combines a licking motion, suction and vibration. For penetration there is the G-spot vibrator Selena and the two-part rabbit vibrator DuoGlow. For the prostate there are Iker Neo and Vick Neo 2. And for the penis there are three masturbators: Sam Neo 2 Pro with suction, Alex Neo 2 with a thrusting motion and Hannes Neo with a pulsing motion.

What makes Svakom special is the number of features per product. Heating to 38 degrees appears in six of the nine models we have reviewed, all of them can be controlled with an app, and several have a memory function and a travel lock. What you need to keep an eye on is the run time, which is often one to two hours, which charging cable the model uses and – for the masturbators – that only the sleeve can take water.

Many Svakom models share the same interface: five modes times five intensities, so 25 combinations. That applies to Echo 2, Selena and Hannes Neo among others, and Iker Neo has five modes and five intensities per motor. Several models have a memory function that starts in the last-used mode and a travel lock, and Echo 2 and Iker Neo show the battery level with four lights.

The material against the body is often what Svakom calls liquid silicone, for example in Echo 2 and Selena. Svakom also publishes noise levels for several models: no more than 50 dB for Echo 2, under 50 dB for Klitty, no more than 55 dB for Vick Neo 2 and no more than 60 dB for Iker Neo and Selena. No measuring distance is given, but that's more than most manufacturers disclose. Feel free to compare with other brands in quiet vibrators.

Svakom also publishes the battery capacity for most models – from 350 mAh in Echo 2 to 2,500 mAh in Alex Neo 2. However, the manufacturer rarely states that the material is free from phthalates, BPA or latex, and on the product pages for Iker Neo and Vick Neo 2 the specifications tab shows another product's data. The manual is therefore the more reliable source when the information conflicts.

Svakom offers a two-year warranty. The “ten-year quality support” the manufacturer advertises is not an extended warranty, but a 50 per cent discount on a new purchase. According to the terms, damage caused by lube that isn't water-based is excluded, and for several models charging cables and sleeves are explicitly excluded. So always use water-based lube with Svakom's products – it's both a care tip and a warranty condition.

Svakom Echo 2 is a finger vibrator with a removable silicone finger sleeve, so it can be used both as a small handheld vibrator and worn on the finger. It has five modes times five intensities, a heating function that reaches 38 degrees independently of the vibration, app control and IPX7. It weighs 56 grams. The run time is 1.5 hours on 350 mAh, and it charges via a pinhole connector to USB-A – a standard USB-C cable won't work. Svakom states that it is intended for external use. Svakom Klitty combines three types of stimulation in the same opening: a silicone tongue with a licking motion, suction and vibration. Licking and suction each have their own button, and there are ten licking modes and three suction strengths plus ten vibration modes via the app. The noise level is given as under 50 dB and the battery as 650 mAh. The downsides are that it's only IPX6 and shouldn't be submerged, that the run time is one hour against two hours of charging, and that the modes only step forwards. Svakom also has the first-generation Echo, which we haven't reviewed separately.

Svakom Selena is a two-part G-spot vibrator with two motors – one for vibration and one for a thrusting motion with an 8-millimetre stroke – and heating to 38 degrees. It has five modes times five intensities, is made of liquid silicone and is IPX7. The insertable length is 14 centimetres and the diameter 3.5 centimetres. It charges with standard USB-C and has an 800 mAh battery, but the run time is one hour and the charging time 2.5 hours. It has no external arm for the clitoris.

Svakom DuoGlow is a two-part rabbitvibrator. Together the parts provide thrusting, rotation, vibration, pulsation and heating to 38 degrees. The stimulator detaches and then works both as a product in its own right and as a wireless remote for the main part, with a range of ten metres. The insertable dimensions are 32 × 115 millimetres, and the product is IPX7 according to the product page. Svakom's two prostate vibrators both have two motors and an app, but they're built for different users.

Svakom Iker Neo has pulsation in the shaft and vibration against the perineum, controlled independently of each other. The insertable dimensions are 100 × 31 millimetres, the weight 135 grams and the battery 550 mAh with 1.5 hours of run time. The noise level is given as no more than 60 dB. The travel lock unlocks automatically when the charging cable is connected. IPX7 is only stated in a marketing image; the manual just says waterproof. With 100 millimetres of insertable depth, it isn't the model to start with.

Svakom Vick Neo 2 is smaller, with insertable dimensions of 80 × 30 millimetres and 93 grams. The neck can be turned 180 degrees so the perineum arm can be disengaged completely, and it has heating to 38 degrees and a wireless remote in the box. The run time is two hours on 500 mAh and the noise level no more than 55 dB. The remote isn't waterproof and runs on a button cell that can cause serious injury if swallowed – keep it out of reach of children.

What Svakom's three masturbators have in common is that the sleeve is removable and washed separately, and that the housing can't take water. They differ in the motion they provide.

Svakom Sam Neo 2 Pro provides suction and vibration, five levels each on separate buttons, plus five combined modes. A separate heating rod pre-warms the sleeve to 38 degrees. Both the housing and the heating rod charge with standard USB-C, and the app can be used for solo play without an account. The sleeve is TPE, IPX7 only applies to the sleeve, and the run time is 60 minutes after two hours of charging. Svakom also sells the Sam Neo 2 without Pro, which we haven't reviewed separately.

Svakom Alex Neo 2 provides motorised thrusting in seven modes, up to 120 strokes per minute, and the app can sync the motion to interactive video content. The sleeve's insertable depth is 138 millimetres and the battery 2,500 mAh, with 90 minutes of use. It's big, 86 × 300 millimetres and 950 grams, has a product-specific DC charging port and a TPE sleeve that falls outside the warranty.

Svakom Hannes Neo provides a pulsing motion in five modes times five intensities and has built-in heating to 38 degrees without a separate rod. Intensity is set with a slider, and app support covers several apps. However, Svakom publishes neither weight, battery capacity nor charging time, the run time is about 60 minutes, and the heating takes about ten minutes and has to be switched off manually. Heat is what Svakom highlights most often. In Echo 2, Selena, Vick Neo 2, DuoGlow, Sam Neo 2 Pro and Hannes Neo it reaches 38 degrees according to the manufacturer, which is roughly body temperature. The point is that the toy feels less cold against the skin, not that it gets hot. In most of the models the heat is controlled with its own button, independently of the vibration.

Heat costs battery, and that shows in the run times. Also bear in mind that warming up isn't instant – for Hannes Neo Svakom gives about ten minutes – and that in some models it has to be switched off by hand. For Sam Neo 2 Pro, the heating rod should be removed before you touch the inside of the sleeve, since the rod can get warmer than the sleeve. Svakom uses at least four different charging methods. Selena and Sam Neo 2 Pro charge with standard USB-C. Iker Neo, Vick Neo 2, DuoGlow and Klitty have magnetic cables, Echo 2 a pinhole connector, and Alex Neo 2 and Hannes Neo a DC port. For several models, the manufacturer states that only standard chargers with a 5-volt output should be used, not fast chargers, and that the product must never be charged when wet or lying in water.

Water resistance varies just as much. Echo 2, Selena and DuoGlow are IPX7. Iker Neo and Vick Neo 2 are listed as waterproof in the manual, with IPX7 only in the marketing, and the remote for Vick Neo 2 can't take water. Klitty is IPX6. The first mistake is the lube. Svakom states that lubes that aren't water-based – silicone-based, oils and lotions – break down the material, and such damage isn't covered by the warranty. The same applies to the masturbators' TPE sleeves. More in which lube should you choose.

The second is submerging a masturbator in water. The housing and electronics can't take it on any of Svakom's three models; always remove the sleeve and wash it separately. If you want something small for external stimulation, Echo 2 is Svakom's most complete model, with heating and a published noise level. Klitty suits anyone who wants a licking motion and can do without using it in water. For the G-spot, Selena gives vibration, thrusting and heat in one body, and DuoGlow is for anyone who wants a rabbit that can be split in two.

For the prostate, Vick Neo 2 is the easiest to start with thanks to its size and the rotating neck, while Iker Neo gives more battery. Among the masturbators, Sam Neo 2 Pro is the most versatile, Alex Neo 2 the only one with thrusting and Hannes Neo the only one with built-in heating without a separate rod.
